long weekend in Cornwall

Would recommend Thu, Sep 3, 2015
the hotel was great, very close to the beach and the station. the room was big and clean. the only bad thing was the bathroom: there was a bathtub, with 2 different taps. you can only do the bath, no way to use it as shower. We had to ask for a jug!

Poor Single Room 8

Would not recommend Wed, May 29, 2013
Room 8 (a Single) is directly above the bar and as such is subject to a fair amount of noise till 12pm) On my stay there was a Jazz band that made the noise intolerable. Check for live events before you book. Room shabby - cant see the tv from the bed, phone not working- same with radio- that kind of thing

Interesting - hotel with genuine history

Would recommend Thu, Jul 12, 2012
This hotel was the place where, in 1805, the news of the great British victory of Trafalgar was first announced. The bar is full of memorabilia, such as Nelson's birth certificate, an original front page of the Times with the news for 21st October 1805, and many other Nelson and navy items. And, good friendly service at a very reasonable price. I'll be back !

Good Friendly Hotel

Manager, Howie and his staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotel had real character, although some decoration was a little tired. The hotel is in the perfect location for exploring West Cornwall. Loved our stay.
