Overnight stay

Would recommend Thu, Jun 11, 2015
Stayed one night here. Staff were very pleasant. Mates room was very warm but they apologised and as I had paid they put points on my loyalty card for a stay anywhere else. If you're heading into Oxford they have a deal with a local taxi firm for £10 each way into Oxford City Centre. Breakfast was good and included.

Clean but not conveniently located

Would not recommend Thu, May 14, 2015
Hotel was very clean and the breakfast provided was outstanding! Unfortunately, this hotel is not conveniently located to the Oxford city center, and there is no bus within reasonable walking distance. However, we saw many interesting sites during our taxi rides to/from the city center. The hotel management and front desk staff were quite rude. Everyday they attempted to add an unauthorized fee to our bill. Everyday we needed to argue about it. Tiresome.

Great staff, average hotel

Would recommend Sun, Oct 5, 2014
Very clean room and very helpful staff. They held our luggage since a late checkout was not available and happily brought a crib up for our baby.

Money saver

Location was 15-25 min to downtown Oxford and $15+ any time we would take a taxi out.

Perfect short three day stay.

Would recommend Mon, Sep 22, 2014
We were there to attend a very special wedding. The hotel was very clean. The rooms were equipped with everything to cover basic needs. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A nice complimentary hot breakfast was served every morning in the dining room. We wanted a nice clean place to base ourselves out of for a family gathering in a nearby town. We were very satisfied and would stay there again.

Not Luxurious but Good Enough

Would recommend Thu, Aug 14, 2014
As someone said, this hotel gets the job done. It's a decent place to spend the night. Although the hotel was mostly full during our stay the room was quiet and we were never disturbed during the night. Staff was pleasant and very helpful when I needed things. The location is well away from the city center of Oxford, but the cab ride in is 10 pounds each way. You'd likely save more than that by staying here and taking a cab in rather than getting a hotel in the city. The free breakfast isn't great, but it isn't bad either. There's decent variety, including some hot food.

Dining

There are several quite decent restaurants in the shopping center a short walk behind the restaurant, on the other side of the stadium.

Clean, comfortable facility, staffed by friendly, informative people. This hotel is within reasonable walking distance to bus stop that provides 10 -15 ride to and from Oxford's City Center.

Attractions

Definitely recommend utilizing any of the "Hop On/Hop Off" bus tours that originate in the City Center area to see all of Oxford.

Wonderful Oxford Experience

Would recommend Tue, Nov 29, 2011
There are some decent buffet restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. The room was comfortable size and clean. Hotel staff helped us use the bus system to get into the center of town. Oxford turns out to be my favorite UK city, so the trip was a success. There is a city bus tour that can be taken to get an idea of the location of the sites you want to see. I recommend taking the tour early in your visit.

Pretty decent with some problems

Would not recommend Thu, Jun 4, 2009
We came to Oxford to explore the University and city center. The hotel is a good distance away from city center - it cost about 10 pounds to take the taxi and the bus takes at least half an hour to get there though at a cheaper price. The hotel is mainly used by guided tours and people watching the game at the Kassam Stadium that is just right behind the hotel. As a result it's really quiet some nights and really noisy in other nights. My main complaint about this hotel though is how the rooms - at least our room - and the hallway smelled like someone has been smoking in them. I believe the hotel room we got is a non-smoking one. But it doesn't matter since people would smoke outside the hotel right outside the room's open window. The first night was rather horrid as the bus drivers liked to smoke right outside our room, but we couldn't quite keep the windows close the entire time since it gets rather stuffy inside. The one redeeming part of the hotel is its breakfast buffet. The variety may look small but it was quite satisfying. They have so many kinds of spreads and good tea & coffee. The place is ok, if your main goal is to visit Oxford. I would advice not going here if you have allergies, particularly hay fever, since there are pollen and dandelions flying around all the time. The city center is ok, but it does have a bit of pollen also.
