Not a hotel
This was without doubt one of worst value rooms I have ever booked - over £200 per night for a room in a house with a door and window onto a back street pavement. Completley fooled by the web site and phography on web site very decieving.

Strange setup
Our room was in what appeared to be an annex - outside access off a walkway/patio that was max 8 feet from curbside to door. Not bad for noise because the street was quiet. Room design was strange. Had excess floor space to provide mini-kitchenette - but had to dodge around toilet to get into shower door. Room generally very moden in design and features. Hotel failed to provide breakfast as website says they do. When contacted after desk opened (they are only there from about 9AM-7PM), they said breakfast not included in online rate despite what website says. Location is 15-20 minute walk from city center, and only a few blocks from scenic spots on the river.

Cute, but small room
Cute, but small room. Clean, but not up to the 4-5 star standard. Helpful and friendly staff.

Convient and value pricing.
For our stay it was a good location and a place to sleep. Cleaned daily and excellent wifi. Amenities were not all working (kitchenette (?) sink had a broken off faucet ) and although there were apologies nothing else was done for us. For the price it was satisfactory.

Close to centre of Oxford
This hotel is not the norm, the rooms open straight onto the street however that is not a down side. The location is fantastic, very close to the centre of Oxford so you are able to walk into the town easily. The rooms are very confortable and location extremely quiet so able to have a good sleep. The current breakfast link to a cafe close by is fantastic, the food was great and a wide choice. Would definitely go back.

Reasonable Walking distance
The hotel was a brief walk to the University and High Street areas. Very helpful staff. More like a Bed and Breakfast than a hotel. Big bed for a good price.

Very clean, well located
Oxford is a beautiful town, and life gets much better if you can walk to the town center and university. This is the case with Ethos, a short walk from the action. We found the bedroom and bathroom to be clean, nicely designed and in perfect shape. Our stay included a nice breakfast at a cafe overlooking the Thames River, with its bridges and canal boats. All in all, we would definitely stay there again.

Shopping tip:
Long walk from hotel
Besides the fabulous university, Oxford boasts an amazing array of great shopping. High quality, good values, nice designs on clothing, not available in the States.

Over my expectations
Just came back from 3 days at Ethos. I have enjoyed my stay and definitely will come back. The room is nice and clean and the street is quiet. Not too far from the center, girl in reception was very kind and helpful.
