Helpful staff, decent, bit of distance from the city hub, but a nice walk or simple bus ride. See full review

The BEST WESTERN Linton Lodge Hotel is a first class hotel consisting of a series of Edwardian houses, which have been converted whilst retaining much of the original atmosphere. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area yet only a few minutes walk to the city center.
The BEST WESTERN Linton Lodge Hotel offers well-appointed and very comfortable guest rooms along with a garden and croquet lawn in addition to 24-hour room service.
Dining is available at Spires restaurant, which offers both table d'hôte and à la Carte menus, while the bar provides snacks and light meals in a more casual atmosphere.
Within a comfortable walk from the BEST WESTERN Linton Lodge Hotel or by sightseeing bus, the city of Oxford provides a wealth of historic attractions. Take a punt on the River Cherwell, just a 10-minute walk from the hotel or explore the Cotswold villages via the train stopping at eight villages. Stratford and Warwick are about a half-hour drive, as well as London which is only one hour by train. Whether for business or leisure, the BEST WESTERN Linton Lodge is the place to stay.

We came to Oxford for one evening stay and had an event on in the evening. The hotel is about 7 minutes from the station (about a 5-7£ car ride) and was much cheaper than the central hotels. Takes about 30 minutea to walk into the centre, really
nice walk. Theres a brunch place along the way to stop by.
Hotel is super clean and has everythig you need. Staff is helpful and lovely.
This hotel is quite a long long walk from the city center especially train station. It is in a residential area and there is no store nearby. There is a fancy restaurant on site and no microwave for hotel guests. The clerk at the front desk said
that they were not allow to warm up food for guests. I am not sure what kind of disaster can happen if they help to warm up a slice of Pizza for a kid. This is not a kids friendly place.
This was my 2nd time to stay in this hotel - the bedroom was very roomy, on the ground floor overlooking the garden in a quiet part of the hotel.
The 24 hour bar for residents was a definite plus point as was the comprehensive and competitively
priced breakfast and evening meals.
There was a degree of confusion by the front office staff both on arrival and again on departure on my ability to use a BW Gift card to settle my expenses but this was eventually sorted out.
Given the size of the hotel, an exercise room equipped with treadmills and exercise bicycles with perhaps some weights would have been advantageous.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short drive from hotel
The hotel is well placed in a leafy, quiet location yet only 5 mins walk away from a frequent bus service into Oxford. Driving therefore is very easy although personally I would recommend public transport.
Appreciated the convenient free parking here. Everyone at the front desk was great help and friendly. Our only problem was the fresh paint odor at night. That won't be a problem for others in the future. They were doing Spring freshening of common
areas and hallways by our room.
convenient to Hop on Bus stop 4 blocks away .
Very comfortable beds!
The walls are paper thin. Quiet street so no street noise. Not very clean and small. Luckily it was very cheap. They charged me in dollars and when I insisted they redo the charge the receptionist was quite put out. Beware of this scam. They
typically charge 2-5percent more on the credit card when they do this, on top of what your card carrier charges. She finally refunded it in POUNDS, not DOLLARS, stating she was unable to refund it another way. I will be complaining to this travel site as well as my credit card company. It is a mile plus north of the city center, not 4/10 of a mile as described in the description.
This hotel did not meet the standard expected of this particular chain. We were advised that our room would be ready at 2 pm. It was not in fact ready until after 4pm - no apologies, offers of refreshments and no one offered to escort us when it
was eventually ready. We were treated with complete disregard and the manager appeared flustered and incompetent. The breakfast was the final straw - at nearly £6 per head extra for a bowl of cereal and almost inedible bread.
We paid over the odds for shoddy customer service.
Staff was rude and not helpful. Language was an issue, in England staff barely spoke English. They were unable to understand what a luggage rack was, and unwilling to get one for us once they understood what it was. Walls were paper thin and
guests were loud. No airconditioning and only a loud old fan was available to move the air.
