Faded, and charges for every little detail

A bottle of water in the room has a £4.00 price tag. A cash machine in the lobby which charges for withdrawal; wifi available, but at a high cost. These attempts to extract money from you make you feel unwelcome as a guest The hotel badly needs care – the plug hole in my basin was rusty and scratched, the sealant round the bath had been renewed amateurishly and was grimy. The doors and cupboard were scratched. The whole place reminded me of council offices in the 1970s. The room was quiet. The staff are friendly enough and the dinner and breakfast were good, but Hilton should remove their name from this hotel – smart it is not.

Almost had to pay twice for my room!

The hotel is in a good location. Nice and quiet. Close to businesses and not too far from the town center. For non-drivers, there's a bus that takes you directly into the town center (largest mall in the area) and back, and it's very reliable. But there were quite a few nasty surprises. Including, but not limited to:* They didn't know who/what [...] was, and even when I showed them my reciept when I checked in (and again on checkout), I had a hard time convincing them that I had prepaid. It was very embarassing. They said they had not recieved any payment from [...]!* They charge $30 (15 pounds sterling) a day for internet access! Ridiculous!* Most of the front desk staff looked and acted like teenagers. They were very unprofessional unless there was a manager around.* The toilets only flush properly once a day or if you leave about 8 hours between uses.*Don't order the chicken satay from the bar. I don't know what it is, but it's not chicken! It was something rubbery which I'm guessing must have been artificially manufactured.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you're staying at this hotel for more than 4 days, it may be cheaper to pick up a pay-as-you go wireless stick - there are a number of cell phone providers in the mall who can provide this and a month's unlimited internet access for around $50. It was hard to find cafes with WiFi (free or otherwise), so this was very handy.
