The Place Apartment Hotel

Location convenient - close to station, and a short walk into town centre. However my apartment was dirty - starting with a pile of sheets left from the previous occupant, a towel with a large stain on it and including very grubby floors, sticky rings on the coffee table and in the kitchen etc. There was a lot of mould and general grime in the bathroom. This is basic cleaning and hygiene which I would expect a hotel of this level to understand and comply with. Check in was slow as they had received my booking via HotelClub but 'hadn't entered it into the system'; however the staff member was polite and helpful. Check out was totally disinterested. I wouldn't stay here again on grounds of cleanliness issues.

Have stayed here a few times as perfect location for city centre, station and night out. Great place as you can cook, chill out etc with a bunch of mates. However, the apartments need a bit of TLC and refreshening as wear and tear getting to it.

The hotel seems nice enough - a great location near Piccadilly. But then the rooms have the problem of falling bits of mortar and plaster from the exposed ceilings. Every day there was a shower of dust and concrete on the bed, sofa, table, and floors. The staff seem extraordinarily dim, as if they've only just now completed a modest training course. I asked that they do one thing for me when I left: keep some important mail that would be sent there for me until I returned in two weeks to collect it. I received only half-hearted assurance that this would be possible, but assurance nevertheless, and from two people at the front desk at that. I should have known that the perfunctory note made about it would never suffice to get the task done, and that the uncaring and silly staff wouldn't be capable of doing it. Sure enough, when I came back, they had returned the mail, although not one person, including the one who'd originally taken the note, knew what had happened. This has cost me a lot of time and difficulty, as the mail involved banking procedures. This level of service applied to other tasks, such as faxing, etc., which were met almost with surprise that such things might be requested. DO NOT RELY ON THIS PLACE FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN A WELL-LOCATED PLACE TO SLEEP. They must have given themselves five stars, because the level of service is about a two-star or less. The staff just don't care about what they're doing. I will say that the cleaning staff did their utmost to make the room tidy each day, despite the condition of the building.

Much better than renting a city centre hotel. We had the two bed apartment for less than the price of one city centre room and it was brilliant. We were out for a night out at the Warehouse Project and this apartment catered perfectly to our needs. If you can get it at a decent price, book here.

Difficult to think where might be more central with Piccadilly round the corner (expect to hear the odd train announcement in the distance)and minutes from M61 onramp. VERY spacious apartment rooms in an old mill conversion -some signs of wear and tear at edges but large, clean, well-equipped. Bit boisterous atmosphers at weekend with hen/stag groups but nothing troublesome during my stay - slightly overzealous security when returning after 11pm but perhaps it is needed. Reasonably priced underground car-park. Helpful front desk.

Fantasic stay, great staff and a handy location.

Das Hotel ist super gelegen. Die Zimmer sind gross und sehr hübsch. Teilweise muss mit Lärm gerechnet werden, da sich im EG ein Veranstaltungslokal für Hochzeiten u.s.w. befindet.

Tja , bra sånn midt på treet . Noe mer liv og farger i mitt rommet ( over og i alle etager ) Kjempe flott med bevaring av jern søyler / dragere og tak i mur velving .

Uns (2 E und 1 K) hat das Apartment sehr gut gefallen. Wir mussten zwar das Zimmer wechseln, weil bei diesem die WC-Spühlung nicht funktioniert hat, aber wir bekamen ohne Probleme ein neues Zimmer. Das Hotel ist sehr nahe dem Piccadilly Bahnhof und der Einkaufsstrasse. Das Frühstück haben wir jeweils im Cafe Nero eingenomme, weil wir nicht so grosse "Frühstücker" sind.

Ihan kiva hotelli ja hyvällä paikalla. Huoneisto tarpeeksi iso neljälle hengelle. Ei mitään luksusta, mutta sopi meidän ryhmälle mainiosti.
