The royal treatment at this heritage hotel at the center of Manchester
The Midland Hotel is a British icon in the center of the city. Located only blocks from Piccadilly Station and sharing the same street with Manchester Central, it is an excellent location for business or leisure travel. This heritage hotel first opened a century ago and has been host to kings, queens, movie stars and rock stars. The opulent exterior of the Midland Hotel is mirrored by luxurious accommodations within. Enjoy world class dining at the award-winning The French (reservations strongly recommended), or afternoon tea at the Octagon Club.
Highlights
  • Location of one of the epic speeches by Winston Churchill
  • Posh and Becks had their first date at the on-site, award-winning restaurant, The French
  • Progressive environmental policies
Rooms
Expect only the best in these grand guest rooms and suites at the Midland Hotel. Lushly decorated, each room has a unique personality, but all are in the range of royal quarters. Find fine linens, large LCD televisions with cable channels, and Wi-Fi Internet access (two complimentary hours, then fees apply) in all rooms. Superior rooms and suites enjoy upgraded amenities in addition to more space.
Features
Not only is this an iconic, heritage building with a fascinating history, it is also a centrally located luxury hotel with recent renovations and a progressive environmental policy that looks to the future. And because the Midland Hotel is only blocks from Piccadilly Station and neighbors Manchester Central and Bridgewater Hall, it is a prime spot for business or leisure travel. Be sure to make reservations at The French, where Posh and Becks had their first date. Wyvern is the place to go for cocktails and the Octagon Lounge does afternoon tea like no other. Stop into the fitness center at the Midland Hotel, swim a few laps in the pool, or challenge a friend to a squash game. When it is time to see the rest of the city, browse the shops at Exchange Square or Trafford Centre.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff are very courteous and friendly. The hotel is centrally located and close to the main shopping area. Also there is a metro stop across the road from the hotel.

Superb Birthday Celebrations

The ambience of the foyer and bars and restaurants together with the absolute friendliness of the staff made this trip into a memorable one . Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Service was provided with a smile. Food was top quality . Beds very comfy. Only tiny critismn is the size of the rooms which are much smaller than modern Hotels.

Really nice room, would recommend

Our trip didn't start very well as could not locate car park (offsite and v expensive) but once we checked in and got to our room we were happy. Room a great size, nice little touches from the hotel inc sweeties and a personalised welcome card and overall decorated nicely. Woudl recommend but bear in mind as city centre can be noisy (trams) so if tiy can go for a higher floor!!

Perfect Location, Perfect Hospitality & Perfectly Pleasing

Everything was fantastic. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The location could not have been any better and the hotel itself was just the right mix of history, romance and atmosphere. Well done Midland Hotel.

Annoying Morning Maids!

The room was great it was a nice size and the staff were friendly. But on 3 occassions between 8.30am and 10am we were awoken by 3 different cleaners walking into our room!! I thought it was really bad for our 1 day holiday off work we were woken at 8.30am for no reason. And when I told reception they didnt offer any compensation. The drinks in the hotel were £9 each! - not impressed by this! The pool was ok, but could do with a revamp. Also the leisure receptionist was not there so we couldnt get towels! and the locker swallowed by £1 coin. The location was great though, within walking distance of the shops and MEN arena.
