Great Staff

Great staff,Great location, restaurant for breakfast was very good, restaurant for dinner was average if not poor my steak was over cooked and my pork belly starter was chewy. Room was excellent great view but windows outside could do with a clean the glass light fitting in room had a chip in it and was sharp. And if you wanted ice in your room there was a charge of £5.00. Location was fantastic. A short walk to everything. Perfect place for a city view.

Birthday getaway

We have stayed a The Lowry several times ,and had a fabulous time. The customer service is fantastic , the location ideal , the room was spotless, lovely and had fabulous views .. The only The negative view was : room a bit dated ; the carpet a bit worn and marked : The furniture a bit marked. These things done and would be back to 5 * plus

Little Italian restaurant over bridge ,called ' belle italia ',book table in advance , excellent customer service , lovely food /reasonable price. Also go to little pub by victoria station called 'Sinclairs oyster bar' ,very cheap drinks (locally brewed), lovely pub food, and very friendly bar service, Also if you live in liverpool , check all train times if you traveling home on a Sunday.!!

Great hotel

We thought the Lowry was fantastic and the staff were super friendly. Even though we had checked out they let us use the spa shower after we had completed the Manchester 10k. Room was lovely, only thing is, make sure you ask for tea making items, they are free but not provided in the room without asking. Thought the car parking was a cheek though- 15 pounds for residents overnight!

Not worth the full rate

1st of all I would reccommend Sunday Lunch in the Restaurant. I thought it was £30 for 3 courses and was pleasantly surprised when it was actually £20 per person. Even the wine which was a NZ Pinot Noir to go with the food was only £22 and a quick google showed it to be £11 to buy so not the usual 3 times (or more)cost here. We were running late due to motorway accident and staff were all very helpful and nice. In fact staff were pleasant throughout our stay. It was our wedding anniversary and I chose the Lowry for location as it is near the shops and MEN where we were seeing Coldplay on Sunday night. I asked for an ice bucket for our champagne but as this was £5 I just emptied the mini bar and cooled it in there. Staying the Sunday was a good rate at just over £120 for a riverside room. It was nearer £400 if on a Saturday or Monday so we only stayed one night. Room was large, comfortable and modern. Just not worth the full rate IMHO. If you are tall like me you have to bend down in the shower which is situated above the bath. Tea and Coffee making facilities have to be asked for. I would have preferred a boutique hotel with smaller room and nicer furnishings but this did the job.

Great front of house team. Poor support

A late lunch provided dried-up bread (kept warm for too long). A snack in the bar in the evening took 45 minutes to deliver. On request to room service, told there were no sanitary bags 'as the supplier hadn't delivered'. As a substitute, were given laundry bags (enough for a whole week's washing) Having said all that, the staff were extremely apologetic about the hotel's shortcomings. Oh! A can of smoothflow Boddingtons cost £5.00 and a glass of wine was over £10 for a very medicre chablis.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Watch out for the old trick of automatically adding a 10 per cent service charge, then leaving a space for gratuities on the bill.
