Great location and value

We had to catch a flight home from Manchester the next morning and the hotel was convenient to the airport. The hotel was beautiful, historic, comfortable, and had excellent bath & shower facilities. The food was very good as well.

Time-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

It would have been nice to know we could have called the hotel and asked to be picked up at the hotel. Our taxi driver charged us 5 pounds to go 2-3 blocks (and he didn't know where it was). We knew there was a complementary shuttle (and used it the next morning) but did not know we could have the day before. Also, it would have been nice to have breakfast included like all of our other UK stays.

Etrop Grange

The hotel is beautiful, a true sense of staying in England with the Georgian features as well as modern conveniences. While near the airport, there are few options of places to eat while staying at the hotel, and the hotel restaurant prices seem high. The food is good but not exceptional. The primary complaint is that the bed slanted outward, gravity threatening to slide me out of bed throughout the night. There is no airport noise that we were aware of. The hotel is generally quiet, but we could hear remnants of a wedding party downstairs.

Beautiful!

I loved the look of this hotel, because of the old world architecture. I thought it was even more lovely than the pictures that I saw. I loved the dining room with its beautiful chandeliers. The room was cozy and clean. I enjoyed the style and luxury of it all. Slept well and relaxed. Not enough towels provided and when requested more, did not get them. I overlooked this because I loved the place so much. We only stayed one night, but I enjoyed it. I thought the breakfast buffet of the full english style breakfast was heavenly and the staff was very kind and helpful. Very close to the Manchester Airport, made it quickly to rental return. I would stay there again!

What an utter disappointment.

What an utter disappointment. Booked a double room for myself and partner for the night before an early flight from Manchester Airport. Our room (No. 5 ground floor) had not been cleaned properly and was thick with dust. Mentioned this to reception and were handed a duster to clean it ourselves! Shower screen missing - mentioned to reception and were given towels to mop the floor! Wash basin cracked. Our room was reminiscent of a Granny Bedsit, shabby, rather grubby and unbearably hot at 37 degrees. Tried to use air conditioning but the noise was deafening, though even with it switched off it still hissed and banged regularly. We got no sleep at all and wish we had stayed at home and set off early morning for our flight. One saving grace was dinner in the restaurant - pitifully small portions but lovely food and excellent restaurant staff. Once, a long time ago, this hotel must have been lovely but it needs full refurbishment and a good scrub! We won't be returning to this hotel.

great stay!

My husband and I really enjoyed this hotel. We didn't have a converter when we got there and they let us borrow two, one for his computer and another for my hair dryer. Unfortunately, my hair dryer blew up (i guess we had it on the wrong voltage) and the hotel staff brought us a hair dryer to the room. We didn't know anything about the town or where anything was. The staff was very helpful. They called cabs for us and ordered us pizza to be delivered to the hotel. Their breakfast was fabulous! They have a nice bar/restaurant area. We ate lunch and breakfast here. The standard bedroom was clean and roomy. The bathroom had a towel warmer, a bath/shower, and was very clean as well. The atmosphere was lovely and quaint. It's a very old hotel, but it didn't have the strange smell and super creaky floors like some older hotels do. the shuttle is convenient. The man brought by husband to the airport which was about 5 minutes away and then promptly picked us back up when he called. I would stay here again.

totally order pizza if you are tired from the airport. you can just sit back and relax, get the pizza delivered right to you and never have to step out in the cold air or pay taxi fees.

Had a 2 night stay at Etrop Grange

Had a 2 night stay at Etrop Grange whilst on business trips using Manchester airport. The hotel is very close to airport terminals with a very good shuttle service to and from the hotel. The hotel was very nice, clean and quiet. I will stay at Etrop Grange again without doubt.
