Week End Stay

This hotel should have a rating of one and a half stars. The room was too dark to read or write. Sent for the Duty Manager to complain. He was a first class hotel ambassador, very polite and professional. He saw the predicament I was in. Being partially disabled it was difficult to find another room. He upgraded us to a suite free of charge which I thank him for. My friend and his wife were put in a room which did have light, only because a commercial fluorescent light went across the ceiling which was not pleasant to look at. The bed was a fold up to the wall type which was not comfortable. Being a Director of a Premier League Football Side, it was the worst room he had stayed in for many years. This hotel needs completely renovating and is Definitely NOT four star, albeit the cost of staying there is. The staff at the hotel were five star and could not have been better.

Great staff!

Overall I had a good experiance. The hotel could use an upgrade. I had requsted to stay on the quay side from reading other reviews. I am happy that I did, we had a great view. Staff was very friendly and helpful and gave great tips on what to see outside of Manchester. I would not reccomend the breakfast buffet, it acctually made me sick on my stomach.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Take the metro. It comes by often, it's cheap ,clean, and fast. You can buy a weekend saver for less than 4 pounds, that allows you to ride all weekend as many times as you want. Great deal!

Shabby

Reception staff very friendly, room very dated and shabby. Overpriced because of Stone Roses gig but wouldn't think it was worth much over £80 per night. Didn't use any facilities or restaurant. Shower was barely warm. Road noise and, like most hotels, the room was impossible to reduce to a reasonable temperature, despite it being not that warm out.

Good location

Was a great location for the football and imperial war museum. Only down side was that staff were not very helpful, especially when asking advice bout what to see and do in Manchester.

OK if it was 3 not 4 star

We were looking forward to a nice weekend away in 4 star comfort. The room was fine apart from a musty smell. When we repeatedly called for room service for food the phone was never picked up, so we ended up going out for takeaways. Not what we'd been looking forward to. I would definitely not rate this a four star hotel!

Nice hotel. Close to Old Trafford.

Good hotel. If you are going to a ManU game - you couldnt pick a better spot. I enjoyed the hotel bar and the setting was perfect if going to a game. I enjoyed my stay.
