Comfortable, convenient and affordable hotel near Piccadilly Gardens
Centrally located near Piccadilly Gardens and not far from Piccadilly Station, the economical Britannia Sachas Hotel City Centre is a great choice for budget travelers in Manchester on business or leisure. Jenny's Restaurant offers a hearty menu in a relaxed atmosphere. Likewise, no one goes hungry at the Overstuffed Pizzeria, also on-site. Fridays Pub is a great place to start the evening or end the night. Spindles Health and Fitness Center offers a fully equipped gym, heated indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room at the Britannia Sachas Hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel several times, and always make it my first preference if it is available when making a booking for somewhere to stay in Manchester.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in

Where to start? Rooms have no windows, possibly to hide the fact that no maintenance or decoration has been done since 1978. When I eventually got room after 4 hour wait depite reservation confirmed the wardrobe door fell off. This was fortunate because the maintenance man was able to explain the reason for the boiling temprature of the room was because they don't turn on air-con in the winter. I thought the hotel advert had said there was air conditioning so I chose to avail of the free broadband only that was a lie too. So no broadband, no air-con, no room service, no maintenance done for a quarter or a century and I almost forgot, it smells. Later in the evening I met with a lawyer from Manchester who asked me where I was staying. Their response to me staying in Sachas was surprise to say the least as she informed me and I quote "Sachas? Isn't it a brothel?" At least I can put her right on that no its not a brothel, prostitute have more pride.

Good location easy to find if

Good location easy to find if coming from Piccadilli station.However we were in a car.went to sister hotel and received a very poor small map as a result we spent 30mins trying to find hotel in one way systems(not recomended).on finally finding the hotel we find there is no car parkink and had to pay £17 to park for 24 hrs not impressed as nothing is said about this in hotel description,Stayed 2 nights hotel ok however Sunday night fire alarm went of at 03.20 and upset otherwise a nice weekend break

single budget room was a bit small

single budget room was a bit small - but well apointed, no window but i only stayed there overnight so it was ok free wifi internet was very good

mix up at check in but soon sorted

Great location but really really

don't bother! My room was about

don't bother! My room was about 5 feet awat from a heavy metal night club - could here thumping through closed windows all night. Air conditioner didn't work. Phone didn't work. Life didn't work. Staff didn't work!

'substandard, no basic facilities'

I stayed in the hotel only for a night paying £70.00. I came late in the evening and left the room before 8 am. One of the sinks in the bathroom was blocked and half full with water. Toilet- flush would not work. Moulds in the very old, scratched bath. Windows are permanently closed, dusty and no work done to modernise for years. I could not have stayed there for more than one night.
