Stately hotel in one of Manchester’s former textile factories

The 61-room Abode Manchester Hotel is in a former textile mill and has a fascinating facade. This hotel has character in abundance and is a prime example of Manchester's reclaimed industrial heritage. The award-winning restaurant serves European and local cuisine, and the whole site is accessible to guests with mobility issues. The bustling Piccadilly area of the city is just a few minutes' walk away, and the main shopping district is practically on the doorstep. For a break with a difference, this sumptuous establishment is one of the best in the area.

3 Reasons To Stay:
  • Complimentary high-speed Internet
  • Award-winning restaurant
  • Central location
Abode Manchester Rooms

The 61 guest rooms at the Abode Manchester Hotel offer simple, classic décor and cheerful furnishings. The walls are a relaxing cream and white, and the windows have double-glazing. The beds are handmade and guarantee a good night's sleep despite the busy city all about, and the pillows and covers are the best-quality cottons. For entertainment in the rooms, there are LCD TVs and DVD players, and in-room Wi-Fi is completely free. The rooms are an eclectic variation on three basic types, Comfortable, Desirable and Enviable, so the hotel has a certain humorous twist on its own provisions. However, in this case, there is no exaggeration; all the rooms here are exquisitely appointed. The oak parquet flooring adds a definite touch of class and lends a slightly but not overwhelmingly Scandinavian ambience to all the guest rooms. The high ceilings and big windows create a spacious and light-filled environment. As well as coffee and tea-making facilities, there is also a safe, a minibar and a desk with telephone points. The en suite bathrooms have separate tubs and showers and come with hair dryers, bathrobes and slippers. The three room types have slightly different views but all carry the same range of facilities, including full room service and laundry service.

loved it!

We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by a very friendly and charming man on reception who offered us an upgrade for a small additional cost which included breakfast (which I would definitely recommend) which was a great start to our weekend. Our room was gorgeous, a ginormous bed (very comfortable), loads of space, a great dresser, full length mirror and very stylish. Ideal for friends and couples to stay as you can have a few drinks in your room before heading out. Cant wait to stay again.

miss

not good!!... two different staff members just walked into our room( without even knock the door), two different days and at different times, with us inside .I asked the staff, after the first time, to ensure that nothing liike that could happen again and, for my surprise it did happen. We could only talk with deputy manager but we only got an apologise, again, no refund or compensation at all.

Great place and central to shopping

Beds were very soft- room was spacious for a Europe room. I use a handicap room and the one they gave us was big enough to get a wheel chair around in and bath was very large. Staff was helpful with information and hotel is right next to buses, train, and not far from bus station. We didn't eat there but many pubs and restaurants in the area. Great deal combined with the flight. Diffidently would stay there again.

Amazing find close to the train station and shopping

I was in Manchester for a quick overnight, where I had an early flight the next morning. This place was recommended by a friend, who had never stayed there himself but had friends who had. The hotel is just steps from Piccadilly station, and located in a beautiful old building. I had chosen the cheapest and smallest room type, but it was plenty spacious, way moreso than I was expecting, given the average European hotel room. The bed was so comfortable, and the bath products offered were heavenly. I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Manchester, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the city centre.

Nightlife tip: Long walk from hotel

Several excellent local pubs are located within about a 10-15 minute walk, including the Marble Arch, Port St Ale House, and the Briton's Protection.

great hotel

The hotel was fantastic, lovely room, friendly staff, good location as 10 minutes from deansgate, loads of places to eat and drink nearby and next to train station. The breakfast was great and book it on check in as £5 cheaper. Overall really enjoyed stay and the bed was very very comfy I was out like a light.
