Stately hotel in one of Manchester’s former textile factories

The 61-room Abode Manchester Hotel is in a former textile mill and has a fascinating facade. This hotel has character in abundance and is a prime example of Manchester's reclaimed industrial heritage. The award-winning restaurant serves European and local cuisine, and the whole site is accessible to guests with mobility issues. The bustling Piccadilly area of the city is just a few minutes' walk away, and the main shopping district is practically on the doorstep. For a break with a difference, this sumptuous establishment is one of the best in the area.

3 Reasons To Stay:
  • Complimentary high-speed Internet
  • Award-winning restaurant
  • Central location
Abode Manchester Rooms

The 61 guest rooms at the Abode Manchester Hotel offer simple, classic décor and cheerful furnishings. The walls are a relaxing cream and white, and the windows have double-glazing. The beds are handmade and guarantee a good night's sleep despite the busy city all about, and the pillows and covers are the best-quality cottons. For entertainment in the rooms, there are LCD TVs and DVD players, and in-room Wi-Fi is completely free. The rooms are an eclectic variation on three basic types, Comfortable, Desirable and Enviable, so the hotel has a certain humorous twist on its own provisions. However, in this case, there is no exaggeration; all the rooms here are exquisitely appointed. The oak parquet flooring adds a definite touch of class and lends a slightly but not overwhelmingly Scandinavian ambience to all the guest rooms. The high ceilings and big windows create a spacious and light-filled environment. As well as coffee and tea-making facilities, there is also a safe, a minibar and a desk with telephone points. The en suite bathrooms have separate tubs and showers and come with hair dryers, bathrobes and slippers. The three room types have slightly different views but all carry the same range of facilities, including full room service and laundry service.

great hotel

The hotel was fantastic, lovely room, friendly staff, good location as 10 minutes from deansgate, loads of places to eat and drink nearby and next to train station. The breakfast was great and book it on check in as £5 cheaper. Overall really enjoyed stay and the bed was very very comfy I was out like a light.

While I looked forward to staying

While I looked forward to staying at this property - in reality my room was very noisy due to wood flooring throughout the property both within, and outside of the room. I found it difficult to sleep both nights and in the early morning due to people walking in the halls and knocking on the doors of others. To add to this the TV in the room had limited channels and the checkout process had to be done face-to-face...which was slow. The check-out receptionist did little more than take may card for payment - no thank you, how was your stay, etc. Very disappointing (and tiring)!
