Poor food, room OK

On arrival, staff were friendly but did fail to tell me where the lift was to my room on the 4th floor. I asked about toiletries and was told they only provided a single bar of toilet soap & directed me to a shop by the East India DLR station a 5 minute walk away. Room was fairly standard but no air conditioning. My room overlooked a very busy (24hrs) road and was noisy even with the window closed. Major problem was the food - very limited selection from the Cafe Bar of not very good food. Trouble is this hotel looks to be miles from anywhere & if you don't know the area then you're trapped. Breakfast did not disappoint as I had low expectations which were met. One surprise was that the coffee was drinkable. Cleanliness in the Cafe Bar wasn't brilliant - all the tables were quite sticky & hadn't had a proper hot water & soap clean in ages. As expected the WiFi in the rooms is an exhorbitant rate but there is free WiFi in the bar. Given the choice, I wouldn't bother again but this is where my company puts me.

Use the free WiFi in the bar as long as you don't need privacy and don't mind sticking to the table

Basic

On arrival I asked for a map of area, was told they had none, on getting into the room found we Only had 1 towel and 1 small piece of soap for 2 people staying in the room. No shampoo or conditioner. was told that that was all that was required to be in room . when you have travelled a long was all you want to do is have a shower and wash your hair.

Only two good things

Only two good things about this hotel convenient to train station and good breakfast at 7.95. Otherwise would stay somewhere else very noisy, stuffy with no fan or ventilation and most staff had a couldn't care less attitude. Sad really because reasonably priced for london Handy to Dome, greenich village and Stratford mall for that shopping.
