Great staff, great location, good value

So the rooms are small. This hotel is across the street from the Royal Mews, a mere 2-3 minute walk to the front of Buckingham Palace, St. Jame's , and Green parks. You can even walk to Harrod's. The Victorie Underground is close, and if you are a city person, it is an was walk to Westminster, Trafalgar Square, Parliament, and Westminster Abbey. The staff were great. The transformer that I brought for my wife's curling iron was broken, but the bell man brought one up for us. That was very much appreciated. The concierge booked us into a restaurant for our anniversary, there was always someone to open the door, and getting a bucket of ice sent up to the room took but a minute. There was even a piano player in the lounge every night. This was a nice hotel that had that tiny European feel yet remained comfortable. I could complain about the room size, but I wasn't there to do business or spend much time in the room. There was a bed that was comfortable and a sizable bathroom. It was just a very pleasant stay.

Flithy Honeymoon

Rubens at the Palace Hotel was a gross hotel that needs new cleaning policies. There was multiple hairs everywhere, bathrooms that smelled gross, creepy workers that stole our food and left a strange underwear in my wife's suitcase, bed sheets that had hair and old period stains, mugs and spoons that was not replaced, and worst of all, we had to sleep over the comforter and use robes as a blankets. DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE AMERICANS, for others it might be ok.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

If you are willing to walk, all of the major attractions are long walking distances. The longest walking distance for us was half an hour.

pleasant but tiny room

Welcoming and helpful staff. Had a very small room but it was nicely furnished and comfortable. No remote for the TV but that was put right rapidly. Noisy Aircon or some machine in the internal courtyard the room looked onto so had to shut the window, then the duvet was too warm but the internal aircon blew onto my face and was unpleasant - so not a great nights sleep! Located near to Buck palace but even nearer the massive reconstruction going on at Victoria station.

A good choice to discover London, 10 minutes to the Buckingham Palace and 5 minutes to the Victoria station. The staff is very nice. The room was small but very quiet.

Very good, but expensive

A great location, and generally excellent service as well. The price, however, was high, even with a discount, though perhaps not enormously so by London standards.

Pretty good in London

The hotel has good staff. Good location, close to subway, has bars and pubs near it. The only down side is the concierge , which shows you around but pushes you to join the bus tour. Serves great and free coffee in the morning. Quite expensive, but no where is cheap in London anyway.

Perfect Stay in London

My husband and I stopped here on our way to the Maldives for our honeymoon and we could have not stayed at a better place. This place is within walking distance to everything. When we arrived very early the staff was warm, welcoming, and not only gave us a room early but upgraded us at no additional charge. They were so wonderful and helpful with everything we wanted to do. We will return the next time we stop in London, it really is a great place to stay and the rooms are beautiful. Loved our stay!
