Nice, sparse, nothing special.
The hotel has a nice location in Mayfair, on Hyde Park and Park Lane, but it is modern, sparse, and not particularly warm. There is no real character, it is a bit 'cool', the bar is OK at best, and that is about all to say - it is not a great value, nor very special, though internet is free. If you want a "London" experience, try Dukes or a more historical place, not this.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Try Tamirand nearby for totally fab Indian food! Skip the pub by Hard Rock - the nachos there were some of the worst.

fab experience
the Metropolitan suited us perfectly: location, room, etc. The tv was a bit kinky but we weren't there that much. Hard to get better than Old Park Lane.

Excellent. First class service
Excellent service, very friendly, attentive staff who could not do enough for you. Its a popular place but you are never neglected as a guest. The hotel itself is clean and modern with spacious comfortable rooms. Location is perfect if you are in town for the first time. Concierge got us reservations at several hard to get in places and their communication with confirmation was first class. Having lived in London for 8 years and stayed at several hotels, staying at The Metropolitan for the first time i would definitely go back. Excellent hotel all round. highly recommended.

First Rate place ,stellar staff
We arrived on my wife's birthday and our adult kids arranged a nice reception which the staff carried off perfectly. The location is super. The hotel small and well done, but the staff from top to bottom is just superb. Attentive but not excessive. It feels like you fell into a well run family and have become an honorary member. Food is quite good and the concierge staff are from heaven. Plus there are many lovely and even affordable resturants nearby.

Short but Sweet Stay
We could not have been more pleased with our stay at The Metropolitan London, thanks to the welcoming and helpful staff and a great rate. Our room was open and spacious, with a small balcony that provided a view of Hyde Park. The bathroom was also spacious and well-appointed, with nice amenities from the hotel's spa. The location was unbeatable and a very short walk to the shops and dining in Mayfair, to Hyde Park, Underground stations, etc. Everyone we encountered at The Metropolitan was warm and courteous from the moment we entered until we left. This was true of all corners of the hotel, from the front desk to the spa to the Met bar to the concierge desk. The decor of the hotel is modern and somewhat minimalist. If you think you would prefer a more "traditional" British look and feel, you will not find it here, but The Metropolitan is far from cold and sterile. Highly recommended!

Exceeded Expectations
The hotel staff greeted us weary travelers with smiles and helped us out in every way... The room was even better than expected... service and staff took care of every request... From beginning to end... From greeting, to wake up call, to bringing us to the room, to handling the luggage, to lovely bath items, to turn-down service with fresh water, to excellent cleaning, to heated towels, to electrical converter, to EVERY DETAIL, ETC., this hotel exceeded our expectations and provided us a very nice stay. It was walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Piicadilly, museums, shopping, good food, and much more. We would happily stay there again.... Thank you!! The building was older but well appointed, staff helpful and pleasant,....
