Exceeded Expectations

The hotel staff greeted us weary travelers with smiles and helped us out in every way... The room was even better than expected... service and staff took care of every request... From beginning to end... From greeting, to wake up call, to bringing us to the room, to handling the luggage, to lovely bath items, to turn-down service with fresh water, to excellent cleaning, to heated towels, to electrical converter, to EVERY DETAIL, ETC., this hotel exceeded our expectations and provided us a very nice stay. It was walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Piicadilly, museums, shopping, good food, and much more. We would happily stay there again.... Thank you!! The building was older but well appointed, staff helpful and pleasant,....

Nice, sparse, nothing special.

The hotel has a nice location in Mayfair, on Hyde Park and Park Lane, but it is modern, sparse, and not particularly warm. There is no real character, it is a bit 'cool', the bar is OK at best, and that is about all to say - it is not a great value, nor very special, though internet is free. If you want a "London" experience, try Dukes or a more historical place, not this.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Try Tamirand nearby for totally fab Indian food! Skip the pub by Hard Rock - the nachos there were some of the worst.

Not as chic as it once was...

Still a very nice place, the Metropolitan doesn't seem to be what it used to be... While the rooms are still generally in good shape, a few things showed the wear and tear of the years. Most disappointing however, was the service: free champagne wasn't delivered as promised, then was late after two reminders; the comforter wasn't changed from down to hypoallergenic, as asked.

good hotel in london

Great location with very good service. Rooms are fairly large but the views were not so good (second floor room looking at roof tops in the center with lots of air vents and mechanical units.

Very good value for location and service

I was pleasantly surprised at the amenities in the hotel. There was a great bar, first class restaurant (Nobu's) and a good gym. The staff were very helpful and courteous.

Great Location, friendly staff

The location of the hotel was in a great area. It was quiet, but about 30 seconds away from the main streets. This is a great location if you enjoy shopping, and the Tube is only a few blocks away. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Great Hotel. Repeat Guest. Wonderful Staff.

My wife an I arrived early (around 10:30am) and checked in. The hotel had our room ready for us! The room is very modern and clean. The hotel staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The concierge is one of the best concierge staff London has to offer.

fab experience

the Metropolitan suited us perfectly: location, room, etc. The tv was a bit kinky but we weren't there that much. Hard to get better than Old Park Lane.

Excellent. First class service

Excellent service, very friendly, attentive staff who could not do enough for you. Its a popular place but you are never neglected as a guest. The hotel itself is clean and modern with spacious comfortable rooms. Location is perfect if you are in town for the first time. Concierge got us reservations at several hard to get in places and their communication with confirmation was first class. Having lived in London for 8 years and stayed at several hotels, staying at The Metropolitan for the first time i would definitely go back. Excellent hotel all round. highly recommended.
