Amazing hotel for couple getaway

This Boutique hotel was very charming on the inside and out. Cozy, modern designed room with amazing rooftop views of "old world London". Hotel staff was very professional and attentive. Perfect location that is near daytime shopping and dining. Metro station is about three blocks away and makes transport to any area of London quick and easy. If you are accustom to walking, the hotel is about a 15 min. walk to the SoHo area with all the wonderful nightlife. Walking is also a great way of seeing parts of the city you might have overlooked. Of course hotel doorman are more than helpful in hailing a cab if that is more your style.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

The area around the hotel is very busy during the day and early evening. But nightlife dies at midnight, which makes late night entertaining/meals hard to come by. Hotel does have a quant hotel bar and latenight room service is available.

The Mandeville Hotel

The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. I fell ill while there and the hotel concierge called a dr to come see me in my room. They were unfailingly polite and concerned about our welfare. The rooms are very clean and cozy but quite small if you get the standard. The continental breakfast includes yogurt, fruit, cereals, toast, and various pastries, along with tea/coffee and juice. The location in the heart of London is excellent--just a short Tube ride from many major museums and other tourist sites.

Mandeville Hotel

Arrived at 7am and was unable to check-in (expected that), though my co-worker's room was ready. Not a big deal -- location was approx 2 blocks from the Bond St tube station on Oxford Circus Rd. Very convenient to SoHo & Chinatown -- was able to walk there in about 20 min. Nothing remarkable about the room -- clean sheets, hot water, fresh towels -- but I don't spend much time in the room so fancy amenities don't make a big impact on me. Solid service, location, quiet rooms and there are 3 pubs w/in 2 blocks of the hotel!

Great experience here

Hotel in great location, 5-10 min walk to tube, market, shopping. The location will make you feel like a local Londoner but have access to everything you need. Very helpful and cheery staff, from receptionist to doorman to housecleaning staff. Rooms are tidied 3 times a day and look immaculate. Very comfortable beds. Extra umbrella in the closet for your personal use. The one thing is the TV is a little small, but who's watching TV while touring in London? I did not hear neighbors through the walls or ceiling which I was happy about so it felt very private. The deluxe room has a double bed and 2 showers. Very cool.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Shopping is a short walk from the hotel, including food halls (Marks & Spencer) to clothes shopping (very good for ladies) and cheap souvenirs. Internet Cafe is on Holles St off of Oxford St, next to John Lewis. Tons of excellent restaurants nearby, I ate very happily on this trip! Try Wagamama (noodle bar), James Rotisserie Cafe (breakfast cafe), Ayoush (African/Moroccan), John Lewis (afternoon tea including sandwiches and desserts for 10 pounds).

Good location, close to the Underground

The hotel was very clean. The rooms were a bit small but we knew that going into the reservation. The price for the size of the room was also a bit high. Free internet in the lobby but not free in the rooms. TV channels were a bit lacking but when you're in London there is plenty to do.

Nice hotel in very convenient location.

The location is superb, with the tube close by, as well as many cafes, pubs and restuarants. The concierge is very professional and helpful...a true asset to the hotel. Rooms were adequate size for downtown London, good ac and water pressure, bed and linens very comfortable. Only negative is the half-shower/tub door where water gets on the floor when in use. But other than that...no problems in any way. We would definately stay here again. This is my 9th or 10th trip to London and this is a hotel I will come back to. Free internet in lobby also a plus.

GREAT!!

The upscale location is great for first-timers to London: just a couple blocks to the tube, plus restaurants & shopping all around. The staff was more than friendly and were always available to answer our questions or make recommendations. The rooms are cozy and clean, but I would recommend requesting a room on the street-side. There is a cafe/huka bar in the alley behind the hotel that can be a bit loud for rooms on the first floor. The DeVigne bar is very nice for drinks and they stay open late for hotel guests. Most other pubs/bars within walking distance close around 11 pm.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Check out both Regents and Hyde Park. Both are within walking distance of the hotel (maybe 15 minutes). The London Zoo is on the backside of Regents Park & it has performances during the weekends. Hyde Park has a lovely little pond and if you want to see something that is uniquely London, walk by Speaker's Corner on Sunday afternoon.
