a little disappointing

I should say two of the staff members were fantastic i.e. the guy on the door and a girl named Anya on reception who has a very good way with people. I told her that the lack of a kettle in the room along with the high price of having tea brought to the room, would prevent my returning to the hotel and she tried (although I neither asked nor required this) to have the tea taken off the bill. Her superior then came along and rather patronisingly told me I would have to pay for the tea. I didn't care about paying for the tea but just wanted to make an observation. Anyhow, apart from that the room was very small and the bathroom seemed to be right up against the bed. Location is superb. Hotel is not. We visit London on average, once a month and have been searching for an ideal mid price hotel - this is not it. Ah well, the search goes on....

Nice place to come home to

I stayed at the Mandeville while attending a conference at a large hotel in town. I was a quiet relaxing place to return to in a nice area that felt safe even at night by myself with lots of bars, cafes, etc.

Disappointed.

My reservation was for a regular room, I was given a handicapped room which I did not need, and could of been used by someone in need of these services. I would not use this over priced and over rated hotel ever again. Cheerio

Location was Amazing!

I relied on prior reviews when selecting this hotel, and I have to say that the reviews were right on the mark. This was a wonderful hotel, even if the room was a bit small for me and the use of the hotel room card to operate the lights left something to be desired. The location is near lots of places to eat along with nearby Tube stops made it ideal in every way.

Because of the price of room service, I suggest eating out as much as possible. There are a lot of amazing places nearby to eat, like Paul's if you like French cuisine.

nice

The Mandeville focuses on style and decoration. As a result the comfort of their rooms are not geared toward practicalities. There are so many amenities and little placards that it's hard to find a surface to sit your own things. A decent size desk/table/surface was sorely lacking from my room. That being said, the room was charmingly decorated and very clean. The staff was always helpful eager to be of assistance.

Fabulous location, chic and trendy

I was in London for business by day but the hotel was so close to all shops and venues that by night I was able to cram some shopping and sightseeing in as well. Lovely hotel although a bit small compared to the rooms in the states but quaint nonetheless.

Quite Nice

Tbis is a very nice, smallish boutique hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel is in a fantastic location! My room was small and overlooked a back alley-- there was construction going on so it was quite noisy in the early AM. My traveling companion had a quieter room. Would probably come back.
