Good Choice in its category

I and my wife stayed at The Landmark during 2010 Christmas time. It was a very good experience: beautiful architecture, nice room (clean, large, good bathroom), quiet location, underground access at the hotel entrance, good (although expansive) restaurant. I would stay there again and fell very comfortable to recommend to others.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a simple but very nice Italian Coffee Shop on the first right corner going out from the back hotel door (access to the train station). There is also a M&S supermarket at the train station. Both can save you time and money for breakfast or a small lunch.

My Stay at the Landmark

The room was well worth the price. The most outstanding feature to me, other than the spaciousness of the room and wonderfully appointed shower/tub facility was the friendliness and helpfulness of the concierge desk conveniently located across from the registration desk. The hotel is centrally located, close to many attractions and restaurants and for those of us who like to use the underground to get around London, the Marylebone station is a short walk behind the hotel.

Excellent stay (esp. at 1/3 reg. rate!)

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was very nice and we found the location excellent. Access to the underground and some bus routes to downtown right outside the 'back' door of the hotel made getting to and from the hotel to most of the places we wanted to check out trivial. The hotel itself is beautiful.I will note that there aren't a lot of pubs or restaurants near the hotel without walking at least a couple blocks. If you book the hotel at a discount [...] you should note the usual room rates, and be prepared that the the cost of drinks, food and room service at the Landmark is quite steep. We found for basic drinks and food about twice the rate at a nearby pub. Different menu's of course, but if you are traveling on a budget you will want to avoid eating and dining at the hotel.[...]

Take the underground! Use a taxi when you are porting luggage around if you want, but you can get to, or within a few blocks, of just about anywhere you want on the underground, and generally faster.

I like the rooms size

excellent location and rooms. The hotel is overpriced and we have to pay for internet, coffe and tea facility. Even it cost money to empty the minibar. However, I would come back if the price is right.

Lived up to Five Star Rating

As billed, the rooms were very large and fairly luxurious. I stayed in both a junior suite and a superior room and there was not that much difference between the two. The location was great! It was close to both the Marlybone underground station and the Baker Street. At Baker Street, I could get the sightseeing buses and connect to several different underground lines. The staff was very friendly & helpful. I used the spa and had an excellent massage. Overall very good.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you are sightseeing, get to the attractions early. For example, I got the Queen's Gallery at 9:30 and the first group was at 9:45 and there was no line. When I left the line was horrendous.

A great place... But

The hotel is ideal for visiting London with children, it is close across the street from the tube. The rooms are really large, we we charged an upgrade of 20 pounds per night for a larger room, I took it as it was ready at my check in time at 12, the other room would not be ready until 4, so with a child and a long night on the plane I took it. The room was comfortable. The staff especially at the concierge desk were superb, they helped us with dinner plans literally every night....
