it's pearl, pity no breakfast included in the price.
I hadn't been to London for many years and recall the last hotel to be uncomfortable, dirty and unpleasant. this time was altogether different. We were a party of four (two couples) and were each delighted by the staff and service of the hotel, it's proximity to central London AND the double glazed windows to ensure quietness amidst London's 24 hour throng! It is part of Victoria station's building so just 30 mins to gatwick airport by train, which suited us perfectly. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and really well appointed for our needs although one bathroom was a tad pokey. The hotel is a gracious, generously proportioned old building that's been beautifully restored, so it's just a pleasure to be in. Unfortunately, there was no breakfast included in the price which we only found out about upon arrival. It seemed a strange thing and left a bit of a sour taste with the welcome. But there are lots of places nearby that do breakfasts quite well. We didn't dine in the hotel restaurant but we did pay £10 each for a voucher to have a Sunday buffet breakfast in the brasserie (People were queuing up for it and consequently the floor staff were struggling to keep up) and here's the thing - no real tea or coffee! In fact, the watery excuses from the thermos flasks were pretty awful. Actually, in five days we dined or coffeed in around twenty different places (from posh to ordinary establishments) and not ONE of them offered real tea in a pot. isn't that remarkable for England! So.... If you love your tea, i recommend you take your own as you can boil up the kettle in your hotel room and sip tea from your bed. All in all, i would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.

Needs Improved Computer Access Services
When trying to print a Boarding Pass, that was problem. The "Business Center" had only one very old computer, AND the printer was non-finctional. It was also hard to find, located behind a door marked Private!? Went to the concierge desk to try to get the boarding pass printed, but no luck there either. The man said that computer was also very old and slow; and unable to handle the airline's website requirements to print the boarding pass.

Great London Hotel
Traveling on business, I've stayed in a great many London hotels over the past 15 years and have to say that The Grosvenor Hotel compares favorably to some of the best hotels in which I’ve stayed. If you're a history buff, The Grosvenor is one of England's original railroad hotels, grand hotels developed in the 1800s to accommodate the growing number of people traveling via train. Its origins can clearly be seen in its location right next to Victoria Station, its private entrance from the station floor, and its grand Victorian architecture. The Grosvenor has recently undergone a major renovation, and it’s clear that no expense was spared. The public spaces are, well, majestic. But this is no stuffy, old fashioned hotel; The Grosvenor has been redone in a way that tastefully combines its classic architectural features with a modern sensibility that is unapologetically cool. The hotel is also centrally located, a stone’s throw from major tourist sites (Buckingham Palace, Westminster) on one hand and some of London’s poshest neighborhoods on the other (Belgravia, Mayfair, and Knightsbridge). The Grosvenor also sports a bistro, a rather lively bar, and one of England’s finest Chinese restaurants (The Grand Imperial). To top it all off, the hotel staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful. Room rates at The Grosvenor also offer a sort of value, at least by London’s outrageously priced standards: not inexpensive but below those of peer hotels. I highly recommend The Grosvenor Hotel. London trip accomodations
We generally stay at this hotel because of its location. This time our room was not as good as before. They have upgraded the hotel but the room was much smaller and the amenities were not as good. Someone had billed our room for their meal and after much discussion, they ended up not charging us for it. If I had not personally checked out this would not have been discovered. Overall we had a great trip. However, I feel that the price we paqid for the hotel was more than it should have been.

Very comfortable
I was planning to stay in London for two nights and the hotel was wonderful. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. I had a wing room which was hard to get to, but the staff will help you with luggage, etc. My room was small, but very clean. The TV had a good number of channels. The only problem was that I could not get connected to the internet (kept getting disconnected and finally gave up). The hotel was conveniently located. It is not too far away from Heathrow (30 minutes underground) and Gatwick (30 minutes Gatwick express). Be aware that Victoria Underground has no elevators/escalators so you have to be prepared to do some lifting if you have heavy luggage. Overall it's an excellent hotel.

Nicely Renovated!
Reading other reviews about the slight shabbiness of the hotel rooms, I decided that clean and less expensive was good enough for me. What a surprise! The Grosvenor has been redone, the common areas are beautiful, and the rooms are, too. The staff was very accommodating, and with an entrance directly into Victoria Station for the Tube and rail, the convenience was really great. My one issue was with the mattress -- while obviously new, it is extra extra firm, and I had difficulty adjusting to the hardness. Other than that, the Grosvenor is HIGHLY recommended!
