Great hotel, great location!
We stayed at the Grand for our honeymoon. It was in a great location just down the road from Trafalgar Square and a walking bridge to the South Bank. Could't get any closer to the action for the great price we paid. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and a great place to stay! We would stay again any time!

Close to tourist sites
We arrived 1.5 hours early and were able to store our luggage because our room wasn't ready. When we returned a little after the check in time, it was still not ready. We were told it would be about 10-15 minutes. We waited 30 and it still wasn't ready. We were finally able to get into our room 2.5 hours after check in. This is disappointing when you are tired from long travel and want to rest and relax. The area is very touristy/crowed but is located next to several tube stations. That made it easy to get to the hotel with little hassle. The room was a good size and the hotel is clean and attractive. We previously stayed at a small hotel in the Paddington/Hyde Park area that was much more cozy and accommodating even with a smaller room.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The area is crawling with places to eat and shop. It's close to the theatre and nightlife. We were able to easily walk from Trafalgar Square to Piccadily Circus via St. James Palace and Buckingham Palace.

the grand was good
Location in London was great-easy acess to the sights and tube station. For the price and what we needed it was great. My friend Karen and I went with our 18 year old daughters. They enjoyed the common room and internet. For the price and our needs it was good. jane

Nice hotel and great location
The hotel was nice, but the hotel staff did not have a concierge. They were clueless on travel questions or locations of items nearby. Also, the guest area, situated between the two wings of rooms, had random people in it that were not guests , misusing the computer and television. Probably not the safest environment if the wing doors are not kept locked.

Short walk from hotel
Trafalgar square is a great location, almost center of everything to do in London. Just take a short walk to Charing Cross station and take the tubes to all of the great sites.

Solid hotel in the heart of London
The room that I was initially given was terribly noisy and a bit unkempt, but I addressed this with the front desk and the situation was quickly rectified without difficulty. I would say, just beware of being given a room on the fourth floor and be sure to request a room that faces Northumberland Ave and you'll have a pleasant stay.

Short walk from hotel
The hotel is ridiculously close to the National Gallery and Leicester Square is about a five minute walk away. Plenty of great nightlife options are close enough where you won't have to break the bank on cab fare.

The Grand Trafalgar
We were in London to see Wicked Location was good but the air conditioning in the hotel was poor and noisy and the ice machines in the corridors did not work on several of the floors.

Sad Southern Traveler
Just Plain Terrible.
Our stay in London started out in a bad way. Our flight was delayed from Chicago due to the Volcano Ash Cloud. [...] once we arrived, they were less than thrilld to see us and their staff was very unfriendly the entire time. The room was very small and our "view" was to a back alleyway. The bed did not even have a comfoter or blanket on it...only a sheet. When we called down to the front desk to ask for addtional blankets, they said we had to go down the hall to a closet and get it ourselves. Pretty pathetic, when you think about it. the location was great but not worth what we paid and the service we received. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone [...]

The location of hotel is very
The location of hotel is very convenient for shopping and sightseeing, especially closed to both Charing Cross & Embankment stations. Facilities are very clean and satisfactory. The price is reasonable for its quality and location. I can recommend this hotel.
