I had a day flight to London and therefore didn't get to the hotel until just after 11PM. I rang the bell many times over 20 minutes, but without an answer. Luckily, as I stood on the stood trying to figure out what to do, a family member
arrived and let me in. He then woke up the clerk, who is also the manager. She wasn't happy that she had been woken and let me know that. Then the next morning she charged me 5 Pounds for "late arrival". Seemed to me that I would not have gotten in the hotel that evening if a family member hadn't arrived as I stood at the door. Beyond this very bad attitude and service experience, the room was hot (no A/C), small, and noisy. the breakfast is not worth having. Book here at your own risk.

Good Value
The rooms were small, but perfect for a couple just traveling through Europe. Our bathroom was across the hall, which at first was a little uncomfortable, but it was a private bathroom. The best part of this hotel is the staff and ownership.
The manager was very owner was very helpful along with the entire staff.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
There is a place called 'Tesco' which is a small grocery store that sells water, drinks, and other small food items for very cheap. It is located around the hotel on baker st.

I think I stayed in a closet
I arrived and I stood outside the door for 20 minutes ringing a bell that I finally figured out was disconnected. I found another bell rung it and was buzzed in by someone into a vacant lobby. I found the lone proprietor downstairs munching on his
dinner. He handed me the key and gave me directions of what not to do and sent me on my way dragging my suitcases into an elevator that would give anyone claustrophobia. I found my room, well, I think it was a room, or a closet I'm not sure. I had a 12 inch screen T.V. with three fuzzy channels and a single dreary light bulb hanging from the ceiling. The shower was from another century and had mold throughout. I was on my way out to go to dinner one night and saw a family standing at the front door looking as perplexed as I had been earlier, I let them in. I paid too much for the two nights and will never do it again. I know it's in an historic building but they seriously need to upgrade everything and add a little customer service.
