UNSAFE! BAD SERVICE! Don't stay there! A 1 star hotel with 4 stars price!

We received the worst services we ever get from this hotel. Don't stay here. This hotel is unsafe. There is a lot of other choices in London with much better value. We stayed 5 nights in this hotel. Below is what happened to us: - About 90% of the time we get in and out of the hotel, there is NO receptionist present in the front desk. They were hiding in their own room next to the front desk. We have to waive and yell to get them out of their room. This means everyone can get to the elevator and goes to different floor if they want to, no one will even notice. - The closet underground station Pimlico is a very quiet station. We saw homeless people slept next to the entrance of the station when we get home late at night. I certainly don't feel safe getting in/out this station at night. - The 2nd days of our stayed, we went back to our room at night and found that our own bath towel that we brought with us disappeared. We went down to talk to the receptionist and he claimed that the cleaning dept was closed then, but he will inform them to search their laundry the next morning to find our towel. We questioned him even if they found our towel, it would have mixed with hundreds of other dirty towels and will be dirty for us to use. His reply to us "you can clean the towel at home later yourself!!!". The next morning, one of their staff knocked on our door, she simply stated "she didn't find your towel in our laundry, this means she didn't take the towel"!! ( I assume "she" is the cleaning lady). What kind of theory is this!? We went down and complained to another receptionist on duty. She was aware of the problem and with a bad altitude, she stated that we have to proof that someone had taken our towel!! We questioned her if that meant they can basically take anything in our room, including money or diamond ring... etc. and we have to proof that they took it? If so, we certainly can't trust them with our belonging inside the room. I asked to talked to the manager and she said we should talk to the general manager not the district manager on duty. Howerer, the GM doesn't come to the site often and she suggest us write to him. She didn't give us the GM direct email. I asked her to leave a message to the GM to call us in our room, she said she will do so. And of course we never receive any call nor message from the GM in our entire stay. The 3rd night, we asked another receptionist on duty on how to contact their GM for complain, he claimed that we should just email to the general hotel info email, and the mail should get forward to him... The 4th try, we asked the receptionist how to contact their GM, without mentioning a word about "complain", this time we finally get a direct email to the GM! We ended up told them not to give any room services to our room for our whole stay because didn't want anyone to get inside our room. Luckily in this case, our lost is only a towel. Though it is not the value of the item that matter. The point is we never receive any apologz from anyone in the hotel and the altitude of their staffs were bad. - Internet is very unstable. It went up and down very often. We complained that to the receptionist. Her response is they let 3rd party company to handle their internet service and their is nothing they can do!!! I didn't even brother to argue with her. - There was no hot water for shower! The water was lukewarm, but not hot enough to get a comfortable shower. If you stay in this hotel in winter, you will be in trouble. We told the receptionist about this problem and she claimed this is a maintaince issue and will have to forward the problem to the maintaince dept. In summary, don't stay in this hotel. You will be getting 1 star service with a 4 stars price.

Pimlico Gem

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel, which was our second in London on the same trip. The lobby is comfortable and pretty, and the staff are helpful. The room was rather small, but tastefully decorated. One downside - there's not actually a closet, just a bar with hangers that hangs from the top of the wall mirror. The bathroom was generously sized, and the shower was a delight. The toiletries were also top quality, and they provide a separate shampoo and conditioner, which not many places do these days. The bed was comfortable, and the street was quiet enough that we could leave our window open at night. The hotel is close to the Pimlico Underground stop, and also near to several bus stops. Note: do not confuse this hotel with Belgrave *House* Hotel. That hotel is much farther down Belgrave Road and is dilapidated and smelly. We accidentally went there first, and I was so relieved we were at the wrong hotel. Belgrave Hotel was great, and I would definitely stay there again. Oh, and it's walking distance to Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey.

A Wonderful Introduction to London

The service was excellent and the room very new, clean, and well-decorated. The breakfast buffet was fairly nice, although not as luxe as I have had elsewhere in Europe. The location in Victoria was close to the River Thames, Victoria Station, and good restaurants. My only concern was that there were no accommodations for those with hearing loss such as a special smoke alarm. I would happily stay at The Belgrave again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There were two places I really enjoyed. One was O Solo Mio, an Italian restaurant right at the end of the next block --a great dining experience. The next was St. George's Tavern about six blocks up. St. George's was a pub with wonderful fish and chips, a variety of ales, and terrific service.

Nice hotel staff

This hotel is in a walk-able distance to all of central London's sightseeing locations. Great staff who watched our luggage early before checking in, while we got rid of our car and after we checked out. Also, we had a few hours until going to the airport and they watched our luggage, so we could walk around.

Good location

The hotel is conveniently located near the Pimlico station. The rooms are small, a bit noisy, but clean. They have free internet which got 5 bits per second at times. Not suitable for combining business with pleasure, if you need to keep in touch/work via the internet. No pay alternative either. They did lend me a 3G hotspot which enabled me to get work done from the room. When it ran out of juice I was out of luck. They were nice. We did get to a lot of London easily.

Not as described.

Hotel was lovely, however I was under the impression that breakfast would be provided with the rate of the room (see the hotel overview on the booking website), however on arrival was informed it would be an extra 14.95pp which was disappointing. Also the hotel is described as having fully air-conditioned rooms, this was untrue as the air conditioning is not available until the end of August, we were however provided with a plug-in fan on request. Also the room we stayed in (a premier double) was described as having luxury amenities and 'mini bar treats', I wouldn't exactly call 2x small bottles of water a mini bar treat. The hotel itself is ok, however is the description of what your getting is untrue and personally I would not use this website again.

Good choice!

The staff was helpful and courteous. The location was lovely - quiet and residential, yet close to Pimlico and a little further walk to Victoria stations. lots of good places to eat along nearby streets. The room was very small, but fine for my daughter and me for one full week - the place is newly redone, so it's clean and shiny and there is very decent water pressure in the shower.

Good place to stay in London

Great value and location (Pimlico tube station) and friendly staff. But don't bother with the breakfat as there are places near for better food and price. Quiet neighborhood. We'll stay there next time in London.
