This excellent small boutique hotel is based in the centre of London, very close to the British Museum & all the attractions of the West End. It's an elegant 4 star townhouse where your comfort is paramount and the friendly staff will make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Hotel's couches are for sinking into & the beds are designed to give you the soundest night's sleep. Outside you'll find a private garden, just for hotel residents, where flowers fill the generous space with color and delicate fragrance and a fishpond ripples softly in the quiet. It's hard to believe you're in the heart of London's West End, but you are. Please note that The Academy is a Grade II listed building, and, as such, does not have any elevators, and all rooms are only accessible by stairs. Should you require a room on the ground floor, please contact the hotel directly with your confirmation number.

As advertised....

Had a 24-hour layover in London and chose the Academy. Room was quiet, comfortable, with all amenities promised. Library looking out on the garden (and complimentary Internet connection) a nice bonus--definitely stay there again.

fabulous!

Located in a charming area. The hotel was beautiful. It had two private terraced gardens-- quiet and quaint. The room was very clean and nice. The restaurant was beautifully designed and the staff was wonderful.

great location, veru clean and nice

great location, 5 min. walk from Totenham court rd and the center of town made our life easy. The hotel itself is very small, but the rooms were very clean and nice, epeciaaly in London terms. Overall I would say we got what we paid for. If you want to stay at the hotel, make sure you ask for a room on the back, some people might fint the street a bit noisy at mornings (not us though).

Would Highly Recommend This Hotel

This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking to go to the British Museum, British Library, Bloomsbury and/or surrounding bookshops. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful in giving directions and making arrangements for taxis to the station/airport, etc. The double room we stayed in was immaculately clean with crisp, very tasteful and pleasant decor, and roomy. The hotel's garden is beautiful and tranquil, and overall the facility was truly excellent. The hotel doesn't have a lift, so if you have mobility issues you'll want to ask for a ground floor room.

Rooms vary but great location

The first room was a small four floor walk up that had a tiny bathroom and old plumbing. Staff was very nice about changing our room to a much more comfortable one for the same price. Internet requires separate password for each device and new password each day.

Excellent Hotel!

The Academy is a very good hotel. Although the entrance looks small, the rooms are very beautiful and have a classy look with nice wooden furniture and designs. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is near to Kings cross station. Will stay here again if i get a chance.
