The location is the main advantage
The location is the main advantage of this huge hotel, within walking distance to large number of the main attractions and areas in London. The rooms are quite OK (we got a free upgrade) and recently redecorated. The negative experience was an extra charge of GBP 15 (!) per person for a very ordinary breakfast in a crowded restaurant . And we wonder how it is possible to design a room totally sealed off (no air-condition, and no windows can be opened). Not good for those who have allergies.

Great Location!
Although the rooms are small (as most in London are), the location can't be beat. The hotel is within easy walking distance to Covent Garden and several tube stations. Everything you could possibly need is within a few blocks - theatres, drug stores, grocery stores, pubs, shopping, etc. I have stayed at this hotel several times and have had a consistent experience each time. This time I tried the in-hotel restaurant and was impressed.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
I highly recommend Kulu Kulu Sushi in Covent Garden. It's a conveyer-belt sushi restuarant that is not only a fun experience, but they have good food. I also recommend Wagamama in Covent Garden (about a block from the Strand Palace Hotel). Even though it is a chain restuarant, the food is always fresh and tasty. I make it a point to eat at Wagamama several times when I am in London or Sydney on holiday.

It was okay
Small rooms, but it was okay since we only used it to sleep in. Great view of The Strand from our room, although it was noisy at times. No big deal. Would stay here again.

Nice hotel, pretty good location
The hotel room was compact, but nice, with very modern looking furniture. The hotel had a doorman and was in a pretty convenient location - a few blocks from a tube stop and within a few blocks of Covent Garden. Breakfast was not included with the discount rate we booked at, but there were plenty of places nearby, such as Starbucks, to grab breakfast on the go.

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
There are several theaters within a few blocks of the hotel -- go see a show! You can buy discount tickets starting at noon the day of at the TKTS booth at the south side of Covent Gardens. There are a lot of other "discounted ticket" sellers but the TKTS booth is the most reputable so make sure you go there. We saw Dirty Dancing (mostly dancing, singing was not the focus) and loved it. The theater was at most three blocks from the hotel.

Excellent Hotel, Great location
I was at the hotel for 5 days and 6 nights. It was one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The room was big enough for me. I have stayed in smaller rooms. The help was great and I was always recieved with a smile. I got great advice from employees on where to go and what I could do since I was traveling alone. I had everything I needed in the room. I will recommend to other and I will go back to this hotel I loved it here.

Short walk from hotel
There is something for everyone at just a minute walk away. You have great pub's, great restaurants and theatre's nearby. The underground and various bus stops are a walk away from the hotel. The hotel also counts with it's own pub and restaurants.
