Excellent Location, a little stuffy
Overall this was a good hotel in an excellent location, right near the Thames with easy access to just about anything you'd like to see in Central London. The hotel itself is reasonably nice with some good restaurants. My only real complaint regards the absence of air conditioning, which made the room hot and stuffy (it was considerably warmer inside the room than outside in the British air). That did make it difficult to sleep at night, even with the windows open (although they only open 100 mm) and a fan going. That knocked a couple stars off for me. Aside from that, it was a good experience.

Great Location
The location of this hotel is great for seeing the sights of London. The concierge staff was the most helpful I have ever encountered and made the visit much less stressful. The lack of air conditioning is probably not an issue except there was a heat wave in London with no rain that made the room uncomfortable during the day while dressing. There was a fan provided in the room and it was comfortable to sleep.

The good, the bad, and the really ugly
Our room was in terrible shape, peeling wallpaper, stained toilet bowl, we were only there one night to see Lion King so we didn't complain. However we got up the next morning to NO HOT WATER!!!! They had a boiler problem, they offered to let us have a late check out but we didn't want to spend another minute here. They ended up giving us a free breakfast. Spoke to another couple they were in a remodeled room but it was extremely tiny.

Good location for theatres
Enormous hotel. Asked for credit card imprints at least three times for a pre-paid room. Service very impersonal. Closest and most convenient tube station, especially with luggage, was Charing Cross although the concierge insisted that we should use the less convenient and crowded Covent Garden Station. Great location for theatres and the opera houses.

Central location, no frills
Experience and service were most enjoyable. Rooms so small they do not allow any activity in a vertical position. Because the hotel is in remodeling, the space outside the rooms is shabby and includes construction crews and equipment. Rooms spartan look like exhibits from IKEA catalog.
