OK, but not great!
Staff was unfriendly and I was given one of the old, un-renovated rooms.Room was dusty and the bathroom floor was dirty when I arrived to my room. The single room was incredibly small and uncomfortable. I would not recommend it to anyone although the price was reasonable by London standards.I also would not stay in one of the single rooms again. Maybe one of the newer, renovated rooms, but I would be specific and request it beforehand.

Strand Palace Hotel
The room was not ready at checkin, i had to wait for more than 2 hours, also the room furniture is not as shown in pictures, it is old design, and very small rooms. No air-condition, no refrigerator. you pay more than you get. the best thing about the hotel is its location

Great location, great value
This is my second stay (each a week) here. The location couldn't be better . The single room sizes varies. This time the room was larger. Staff is responsive. Rooms are very clean and nicely appointed - nothing fancy but everything you need.

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
Everyday at lunchtime there is live music and entertainment at Covent Garden. I've heard some great stuff. You can browse the markets and the restaurants too.

Been before as it is a good hotel
Been before as it is a good hotel for its central position for theatres and attractions such as London Eye, Covent garden, and so on. Breakfast is excellent. Could do with more staff serving at the bar in the evening when guests go down for drinks especially after 6pm and again after 10 pm when many guests arrive back after going to see a show. Otherwise a decent hotel valus for money

good location. I travel alone, but feel comfortable in this hotel..However I find it expensive for a single room. Breakfast is not too good (usually cold) and evening meals expensive & not above average.

Rooms are small and noisy (if on the front of the building) - but best value for the money to be had. Perfect for theatre fans. A very well-run hotel.

The hotel is situated very convenient
The hotel is situated very convenient both to the City and Theatre land. The staff is friendly and very service minded, The breakfast arrangement in the Carvery is my only complaint. It is much easier to just pop put to one of the nearby breakfast joints.

Friendly staff and a very good location both to the City and Theatre Land, the only negative thing is that the beds are too hard for an 'old and tired' body

Smack dab in the middle of everything.
I have been to London twice before and when I realized the closest Underground stop to this hotel was at the center of Trafalgar Square I was shocked. This may be a 100 year old hotel, but it was well kept, clean, and the staff was friendly. I stayed in the least expensive single room. It was definitely not huge, but had everything I needed with a full sized bathroom and a rather large tub. The location was fantastic. Close to the Underground, shopping, theaters, and the Soho gay area. I will definitely stay here next time. Very good price for central London.
