Dissapointed
The hotel looks good. Several problems arose though. I use crutches and a wheelchair and they kept me standing at check in for about 20 mins while they checked what room to give me. Once in the room, I needed to use an iron and board, it took 3 requests before I got it. I also had to ask twice for the tea and coffee to be replenished and even then they brought the wrong things. I was woken at 8 am by the housekeeping staff talking very loudly outside my room. The bed was rock hard. I have had better service and treatment from Travelodge and Premier Inn hotels. I WILL NOT be returning to The Strand Palace again, I will look for a different hotel for my next visit to London

Too expensive
Booked this for a business trip because it was near the location I needed. Quite expensive considering the tiny room. The room itself couldn't have been more than 12 foot by 6 foot, with an inward facing window. The hotel was having an exterior facelift so was covered in scaffolding. Disappointing. The staff were great however, courteous and polite. Free wifi with the room

NIce place, great location
This hotel is in a great location, walking to distance to most attractions and theatres. Staff was friendly, rooms clean and comfortable. My only complaint of the place was that they charge a media charge to watch tv. This really should be included in the cost of the room.

Stay centerally located so you are close to attractions and entertainment. It really saves time and you don't have to use transportation if you don't want to.

Close walk to Her Majesty Theater with Phantom of the Opera. Covent Garden is just around the corner. Short walk toTrafalgar, Buckingham,Piccadilly, the Eye, etc. Three blocks from the Tube.

Good for the price, nice location, but ...
crazy smell of poison against cockroaches in the hall! You can barely hold your breath. I had really bad headache because of that. The hotel was getting ready for the Olympics I guess, was all covered by plastic, from outside it was just not looking good at all.

Pret a Manger is located in less 5 minutes walk. Small grocery stores are around. ALso number of theaters around, and great location for main historical landmarks of the city

Just a place to sleep
The room was fine, but cramped and covering only the bare minimum; the main advantage of this hotel is the location, walking distance from so much of West End London. This is a hotel for people who aren't planning to spend much time in their hotel room, but want a convenient location for touristing around London.

perfect location
It was 4 days for vacation. Got a good price considering I spent New Year's Eve in London. The room was small (one single bed), but again, I didn't plan to spend my time there ! The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything. I'm walking a lot and - being in a central location - I could get from Hyde Park to the London Tower w/o getting in the underground. It's 2mn walk from Covent Garden, 5mn from Charing Cross, Embankment and Temple subway stations, a nice walk to Soho, the London Eye, etc.... I'll check it again next time I go back to London !
