Plusses and minuses
I've stayed at the St. James before and it is a good hotel. The new spa is great. We had a massage there and we both loved it but the computerized locker wouldn't let me back in and they had to get security to open it. Not a big deal though. The "delux" room is TINY. We ordered room service and there was no place to fit the room service cart. I thought I remembered the rooms as being bigger. So at any rate I upgraded us to a junior suite (it's really just a bigger room) but it smelled of cigarette smoke. I know that's not the hotels fault but I was annoyed. When you get the suite they include the honor bar at no charge but watch the final bill because all the honor bar items were on the bill but taken off when pointed out. On the plus side the hotel is perfectly located and the staff tries hard.

There are some great indian restaurants off of Picadilly circus and we enjoyed the play "39 Steps" which is a short walk from the hotel.

beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel great help with a fab bar. Did have a few problems not getting the right room but they made up for it. Great location and a great spa.!!

Great location

Wonderful Stay!
This hotel has perfect location, a friendly and helpful staff, and a wonderful ambiance that is unmatched in the many travels we have ventured on prior to this. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody.

Very Luxurious Hotel
This hotel was in the perfect location. It was by the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly, Leicester Square, and Trafalgar Square. It was within walking distance to many sights like the National Gallery, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace. There were a couple of tube stations within walking distance so it was easy to get everywhere. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. They would take your luggage right away, showed how everything worked in the room, and made sure we had a taxi when we were leaving. I would definitely stay here again!

great location!!
stayed at Sofitel St. James for two nights in July 2012. location could not have been better. Picadilly lane (Subway or Tube) station was only 3 min. walk, and the park was only 5 min. walk or less. if this is your first time in london, this is the hotel you want to stay at!

Kanonhotell!
Har rest mer eller mindre jorden runt. Är kräsen med hotel men detta är ett hotel vi längtar tillbaka till. Kan varmt rekommenderas. Vilken personal!! Så trevliga men ingen näsa i vädret. Ät och drick gärna på hotellet! Det brukar inte jag gilla men detta var så bra att vi återvände tre kvällar i rad.
