Amazing London location

One block from the Underground, Double-decker buses, Starbucks, and other reasonable eateries, a very convenient location in beautiful, safe, South Kensington. Hotel was modern, equipped with free Wi-Fi, very comfortable bed with comforter, and tile and glass bathroom. Small room, standard for Europe, but adequate. An excellent value for the money. Would easily stay at Rydges again!

Good room, great location

We had a great vacation in London. Are hotel was nice but there were some drawbacks to the room. The main problem was the bathtub/shower drain did not work properly. By the time one of us finished his/her shower, he/she was standing in calf high water. We notified the desk but nothing was done about it. Otherwise, nice room, but was cramped b/c we had a 3rd person sleeping on the pull out twin-size sofa bed. Great location near Gloucester Rd. Tube station with access to Circle, District, and Piccadilly lines (Pic line access is closed until December).

Very nice, convenient hotel

Enjoyed our stay in this beautiful and convenient hotel. Room was small (to be expected), clean, updated, and bathroom was nice as well. The air conditioning kept changing settings in middle of the night. We told the front desk and they attempted to fix it, but the problem happened again. Also, they charged us for local calls, and we were unaware that there was a charge for. Staff gave good advice and recommendations! Metro super close, lots within walking distance.

Good but could be better

The room was good with lots of light and a very comfortable bed. It was not good that you were expected to pay for the bottled water in the room which was expensive. The noise from the room above was extreme at times. The room was not cleaned until 4 o' clock the next day and my contact lenses disappeared from the bathroom. The food in the restaurant was good and the staff very friendly but inexperienced. We had payed for breakfast to be included but they said this was for continental and tried to charge us an extra £20. We spoke to a young lady who was not helpful but a young gentleman sorted this out. The location of this hotel is excellent. We has a good stay and would stay here again even though there were a few issues. This could be an excellent hotel just with a little more thought. some of the staff on reception are not really interested in any complaints and do not act upon them they would rather argue. The young gentleman on reception did listen and responded. Once the staff have more experience this hotel would be as good as any hotel in London

Great for a single person

This was the perfect hotel for me, being a single traveler. Everything was within walking distance. There was an ATM across the street and a shop where I could purchase an oyster card next to it. An underground station was less than a block away and there was a combined bus stop and tour bus stop right in front of the hotel. I was within ten minutes of the V and A museum and Harrods. The free breakfast was good and for a minimal fee I could have the English Breakfast. The room was clean, small and had a great shower. This was the best possible location for someone who wanted to see all the sights of Central London, of the outlying areas and still have easy access to Heathrow.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you are in London in the winter take a tour bus that lets you hop off and on. The price covers two days instead of one and you can get to and see everything that is covered in the guide books and then some.

Good Hotel

This Hotel is well positioned close to Gloucester Rd train station. Good restaurants and pubs just a short walk. Rooms are a little small, not a lot of room for larger suitcases. The rooms are clean and tidy with a modern style fitout. The Wifi service is a daily/weekly extra charge on top of the room fees and the signal is not that strong in the room and we also found it dropped out a lot when we were trying to use it. So Wifi definitely a negative they need to work on.
