London Short Timer
Good Crash Pad
I was finishing up with a business trip in the UK, and I decided to stay in London for the weekend. This particular weekend happened to be when London was hosting the UEFA Champions League Final, so hotel rooms were difficult to find at a reasonable price. At $120/night, this hotel was one of few remaning with a rate within my range. Considering the hotel room situation in the city, I can't complain much about the value. However, in any normal circumstance, I would not have been thrilled with the quality for the price paid. This is a standard, cheap, London hotel room, meaning there are absolutely not frills. The door to the room didn't open all the way because the bed got in the way (i.e. very small!). There was a small desk, and small cabinet to hide my one bag in. The private bathroom was also VERY small, but it had everything needed. I would recommend this hotel only if you are looking for a private room crash pad, and if the price is right. Otherwise, a hostel might be a better choice pricewise, if you don't care about a private room. I only spent about 2 total hours of "awake time" in the room. The rest of the time I was either sight seeing or sleeping. The staff was very friendly, and I had no problems with the booking through [...]. Although, I did call about an hour after I made the booking to make sure they had received my reservation. Internet is at an extra charge, just like any other hotel in the UK (remember that Starbucks and McDonalds both have free public wifi!). The neighborhood is nice, and there are several pubs and faster eateries in the area. The nearest Tube station is very close, just around the corner, and is served by two different lines, one of which is the Picadilly line which is the main line to use when getting to/from Heathrow.

Money-saving tip:
Not Applicable
(1) Starbucks, McDonalds, and several cafes and pubs have free public wifi. This is a great alternative to paying for internet access at your hotel. (2) If you are staying in London for a while, and you plan to use public transport, look into a multi-day tube pass or an Oyster card, the latter of which allows you "beep" yourself onto any tube or bus as you please, and top up the value on the card as you go. You'll be moving around London like a local, instead of having to deal with ticket machines each day.

Stayed in the annex, basement
Stayed in the annex, basement with steep stairs and only handrail half way down. No hot water so better like a chill shower. Internet very reasonably priced and they have computer in the guest lounge where you can print off your documents with no charge for the printing.

Rooms did not match picture!!
My wife and I were given a room in the Annex building of this hotel [...] The room was so small that the double bed barely fit in it, there was zero room for our luggage and no sitting area. The towels that were provided had stains on them and there were long black hairs in the bed as well as on the pillow. I called the front desk to inquire about a room switch to a room similar that was pictured online. The front desk told me that I had an ensuite room. A room with a bed, shower and a safe was an ensuite room. I went to the desk and asked to atleast look at a different room but was infomed that the only other room that they had available was equiped with only one twin bed. [...] I had to settle for clean sheets and towels. It was my wife and I's last night in England and we chose the hotel because it was close to the tube station and made for a quick trip in the morning to heathrow. It was a terrible way to end a great trip. Do not book this hotel.

Very satisfied. Staff were friendly, let me use a converter for my computer, breakfast was very good considering the cost of the room, could purchase internet time that you could use when you wanted to (i.e., could log on for 20 minutes and log off to have 40 minutes of time to use later). Many other hotels charge for a day of use or for a one time block of time. Great location to get from Heathrow on the tube.

It was a decent yet small space; the rooms are a bit old, and my room had an odor. Breakfast was okay. For the price paid, I was expected a newer more renovated place. It is rather an old building in a small space.

a choice without other choices
being comparatively close to downtown hotels at this rate in high demand seem to have felt it unnecessary to improve their facility or service, sorry to say so but it's true. budget travelers like me have few other choices when we try to stay there. worse than that, their offers are not true, either. the said shuttle bus requires pre-order with extra fee as high as 25 GBP while internet service is not available at all, even at the front counter a simple surfing was unable due to its too much low speed. incredible, isn't it, especially compared to asian countries like japan, korea and taiwan, etc fortunately there's a bathroom within that limited space but water supply seems not stable, sometimes unable to flush the toilet or little hot water while taking showers. the breakfast included is, however, acceptable and staff is nice and helpful. good part of this experience, anyway.

It might be the case that everything
It might be the case that everything depends on the room you stayed in, but mine was VERY dated, shabby, the paint on the walls was applied directly onto the cracks, i'm not mentioning that there were no tea making facilities, but there were no even cups or glasses in the room. The gap between frames of old sashed window was so big that i could perfectly hear the street. In addition to that i could hear every step of people upstairs and every word in the conversation next door, how they open the window, flash the toilet, turn in their bed etc. the only good thing about hotel was staff. when i went to the reception complaining that i literally can't sleep because of the noise, lady straight away gave a call to my neighbouring room. The young guy serving breakfast was also very polite.

Location good for London sightseeing
Location good for London sightseeing etc, staff helpful. Room was very small and did not have a power point for general use such as recharging our camera and computer. Breakfast basic and juice was cordial.
