Great location, fair hotel
Traveling Couple Oct 2, 2009
The hotel was in a great location, and was a decent hotel. The room was nice but the bathroom was extremely small and the ... plumbing left much to be desired. The toilet did not always work and we lost all hot water for a few minutes on several occasions. Overall it's a decent hotel but I certainly wouldn't pay the full retail cost per night for it. If you can get a great deal I would give it some consideration as the location is great.

Millenium Hotel - gouge for every extra
Ronsolve Sep 8, 2009
The Hotel is superbly located at Grovesnor Square adjacent to the American Embassy. You can walk north to Marks and Spencer ... and Oxford street for shopping. There are numerour small restaurants along the way for eating more reasonably than at the hotel. You can walk East 4 blocks to Hyde Park. You can walk to theatre (25 minutes). Great location. Our room was fine. It was the LAST room furthest from the lift (elevator) - but then we were an orbitz customer. It was clean with a bathroom the size of a huge closet. Wish more of that space was in the bedroom. I guess a large and spacious bathroom is a British thing. However, this hotel caters to a different guest than what I perceive as an Orbitz customer. Internet is not 'free' in Europe hotels like it is in US hotels. However, this hotel got L20 ($34) per DAY for wirelsss service. Outrageous. I just took my laptop to a local cafe and used it. I borrowed an AC converter - they get L20 ($34) security for that. I had a glass of wine in the bar - it was L7.5 ($12.75) Maybe all of London is outrageous - but I felt gouged at every turn in the hotel - and the staff kept appologizing for it. I think a big clue is that there were 6 or 7 chanels on the TV in arabic. Clearly - they cater to crowd with more money and from a different part of the world.

An oasis of calm in London

So-so hotel but the price was right
London Lover Aug 18, 2009
We booked two rooms. One was a very large room given at regular price, the other room was a conventional room and very ... small. The old style 19-inch CRT televisions (one of which had been stocked with an incompatible remote) were unacceptable in this day and age. The hotel is old and the rooms and bathrooms show it. Service was variable. Hotel's best feature is its location in the elegant Mayfair area. You will feel very upper class strolling the beautiful streets as Bentleys and Aston Martins pass by. You also can't beat the price we got from Orbitz. When you're spending less than $300 a night per room in London, you can forgive a lot.

Adequate in convenient location
sf in uk Jul 26, 2009
Stayed for a week on business and the hotel is in a convenient location (easy walk to Bond tube stop and Hyde park through ... beautiful neighborhood), but the mattresses in the room were old and sagging. Literally bowing. Made for uncomfortable sleep. Other than that fairly large annoyance, this place is great. Perhaps a little bit of a dated hotel, but clean and nice overall. Note that this hotel does not provide hair conditioner so you need to bring your own.

Classy
Chris Jul 15, 2009
We visited London during the Tube strike in June so we decided to move closer in town while the Tube was out of commission. ... The hotel was great but a little too posh for us. We're a young couple so we didn't fit in with the regular clientele. The location was great though, on the same square as the US and Canadian embassies. The walk to the tube was 3-5 blocks when it was operating so it was pretty easy to get throughout London. If you can find a good deal on this hotel, I recommend it but if you're not classy (like me) be prepared for some akward glances.

Anthony Jul 3, 2009
The hotel was in a great location (close to Oxford Street and Bond Street tube station). The business center was excellent, ... the hotel has a good bar, and the staff was friendly. The negatives: carpet in the room was dirty, the bathroom looks like it has not been updated in 10-15 years, and the air conditioning did not work very well. The bed, however, was very comfortable.

Millennium Hotel London Mayfair
Hawkeye Jul 2, 2009
I expected a small room and that was acceptable. The shower problem was not. Water came out of the shower head with ... excessive, uncontrollable force and in a volume that caused the tub to fill half way by the time one finished showering. I reported the problem to the front desk on the first and second mornings of our stay; they claimed that they would have their engineer attend to it. Nothing changed and, worse, they never reported back to us on what, if anything, they did do.
