Great Location
The reason I booked this hotel was location. The underground is across the street. Harrods is within walking distance. The Natural History Museum, The Victoria And Albert Museum and The Science Museum are all within a short walk. The room we had was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff is attentive and pleasant. We had a very nice experience at this hotel.

Billyn
August 2011 stay at Mellinium Gloucester.
On the good side the hotel is very close to a well served undergound station and lots of restaurants and a convenience and grocery store. We had a club floor room but the club is permanently closed and you get a continental breakfast in the coffee shop. For happy hour if you go beg at check in they will somewhat reluctantly give you a voucher good for one glass of wine or a cola in the bar. They do have some snacks available. The biggest negative is Twenty Pounds ($34) a day for internet service with none available for free in the lobby or bar. You can pull up an alternate called Spectrum for Twenty Pounds a week. It gets only one or two bars of service but we survived on it. Like most UK hotels they will not admit your before check in time of two pm. so we had to kill three hours in the lobby after an overnight flight. L

Olives next door will honor a ten percent discount on a coupon found in the hotel. They also have a large glass of wine during happy hour for four pounds.

Probably should "Upgrade"
We chose this hotel mainly for the location, which was perfect for our needs. However, there were many ammenities missing, our shower had mold, a bobbypin lay on the floor in the same place for days, indicating no vacuuming. A couple days they failed to refil the instant coffee granules! The room was crowded & set up uncomfortably. If you turned the heat/fan on, it brought in a stale cigarette smoke smell. Wi-Fi was EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE as well as a steep charge per call (in addition to the phone bill) from the land line.

Sightseeing in London
Close to sights yet quiet.
Located in a good London neighborhood, just yards away from the subway station with cafes, pubs, banks and shops around. Harrods was 1 subway-stop away. Room, although small since this was a refurbished historic building, was quiet as requested. A pleasant experience.

Easy walk to the Victoria and Albert Museum (plus the Natural History if visiting with children). Having Club membership was a good idea: quick check-in, nice continental breakfast and evening glass of wine with canapes in the club-lounge.

worth considering for visit to London
e had never been to London so this was our first trip. The hotel locfation and staff made our visit a memorable one. The hjotel is in a very good location and next to the tube station so traveling around town was weasy. The concierge services were very helpful and that made the whole trip worth the staty.

Great Place, Great Location
Conveniently located a half block away from the Gloucester Road tube station with connections to the District, Central and Piccadilly lines. It is within walking distance to Hyde Park, Harrods, and the Victoria and Albert and Natural History Museums. Our room was ready on arrival, a large size in comparison to other UK hotels. The club lounge provides a nice continental breakfast and an evening reception with complimentary beverages and hors d'oeuvres in a comfortable and quaint atmosphere. The concierge and staff were very friendly and provided great recommendations on local restaurants.

Convenient, clean and pleasant
Stay at this hotel and take the tube from the Gloucester Road Station (Piccadily Line, District Line, Circle Line) everywhere. We even took the Piccadily Line from Heathrow right to Gloucester Road. Imagine how pleased we were to find the hotel right around the corner from the station. While it is not the most appealing hotel from the outside, the inside (including the guest rooms) is lovely. The neighborhood is safe and there is a 24 hour Tesco (convenience/small grocery store) opposite the train station. There are also a number of restaurants nearby that are open late. Great if you are hungry after a long day of sightseeing, TIP: Internet fee of 10 - 20 pounds per day is expensive. Get a package that includes wifi if you can.

Great place for breakfast right across the street, next to the Gloucester Road tube station. Much less expensive than eating in the hotel.
