Very nice hotel!

The staff was wonderful and very helpful in suggesting places for us to see as first time tourists. The hotel was very convenient across the street from the tube and a convenience store across the street. My only complaint would be that we paid a lot of money, but I have no idea what other hotels are like in the area to compare. Having only a few days to find a hotel I went with a suggested location which within days of looking vs. booking seemed to double in price with less availability at hotels that may have cost less.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

We bought 3 day passes for the tube to cover unlimited usage which allowed us the ability to go wherever we wanted, whenever so we didn't have to wait in line for tickets or get angry when we ended up on the wrong subway.

Kindest Staff in London!

We have stayed here twice , one night only each time,in Dec 2012 and in Feb 2013, in a standard twin bedded room. ( you need to ring the Baileys hotel to ask for a twin beforehand or you may not get one). The rooms were a really decent size and bathrooms well equipped with nice bath and overbath shower. I have 2 criticisms only of the rooms- first no adequate bedside reading lights(I am a poor sleeper) and second the location of the hairdryer (inside the wardrobe) which makes it very difficult to dry and style your hair. On the first stay we were a little disturbed by some noise from a function in the conservatory across the courtyard from our room but it was not too bad or very late. On our second trip I mentioned this when requesting a twin room and our room was absolutely silent., The Guest Relations Officer had emailed us after our first trip feedback form and suggested we advised her in advance of our next visit so we did and as it was a birthday trip, she greeted us personally and left a nice bottle of red wine in our room. The staff here are outstandingly friendly , helpful and kind, something we particularly appreciated on our second trip.

Pleasure and Business

My wife and I stayed for a week and it was very comfortable and had a great location as well as excellent value. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and general information. Besides being located around the corner from a tube stop that had 3 lines including one direct from Heathrow, the hotel is located in a neighborhood that is residential so there are many conveniences nearby. A small supermarket and many restaurants lined the street and it was a short work to the museums and park. No matter what we planned for the day, it was always easy to get back to the hotel and freshen up before our evening activities. The hotel lobby had free wifi and very nice sitting areas, plus the room we had was laid out nicely and was very sunny and comfortable. When we return to London, we will definitely stay here again.

Well worth it

I spent six days at Bailey's and must say that it met all my expectations. It's a wonderful old building with a lovely lobby area, especially in Christmas dress. The hot breakfast buffet is quite affordable if one obtains a voucher from the front desk - £12.50. From the front door it is only steps to the tube, simple and upscale restaurants, pharmacy, bicycle rental, and more.

Not 4 stars

The shining attribute of this hotel is it's GREAT location. A friendlier hotel staff you will not find. They were fabulous! My room was clean & fresh but remined me of where Martha Stewart may have served her time; a nicely appointed cell. My confirmation was for a std room with 2 singles or a double bed but my room was SMALL & had 1 small bed (college dorm room small) The pillows were a step above what the airlines give you; horrible. There was no room for a night table; problematic for someone who needs their glasses within reach. (A bed, a desk with chair, and a small tv) Only one large towel provided; none of which is a 4 star experience. If you are claustrophobic, spend a couple extra bucks and stay next door at the Millennium Glocester.

Perfect for business or pleasure

Hotel has a great restaurant and bar on site; plenty of restaurants and pubs; coffee shops, bank and the tube right there. One of the best places I have stayed at in London and I'm there twice a year on average.

We loved this hotel!

This hotel is in a perfect location across the street from a convenience store, ATM and underground stop. It is in an upscale neighborhood with Londoners off to work and school around the hotel in the morning. The Big Bus tour company also stops directly in front of the hotel. Our room was beautiful and spotless. The staff was extremely helpful. I can't say enough about how perfect it was!
