Expensive, but really nice

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Lowndes many times and the location and service can't be beat. It is expensive, but most places in London are. The restaurant downstairs is a great spot for breakfast (also pricey, but the food is very well prepared) and room service is tasty too. Wish the Oribitz price would have included breakfast. Thanks and best wishes

Wonderful hotel!!!!!!!

This is a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. It is a boutique style hotel with all major services. The gym and pool are not located in the hotel but just around the corner at a sister property but well worth the tiny walk. It is located only 5 minutes from the Knightsbridge Tube stop and therefore smack dab in the most amazing shopping neighborhoods. The hotel is also within a one block walking distance from great restaurants and unbelievable patisserie and a little supermarket if you want to stock your room with water and snacks. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you are going to London to sightsee then Knightsbridge is the perfect place to start. The V&A museum is within walking distance of the hotel and it is easy to use the local tube stop as a jumping off point to all other sights. The room was a little on the small side but I have found most five star hotels have small rooms in London. Most importantly the room and bathroom were spotless and the linens in the room were sumptuous. In each room there is a Nespresso machine with complimentary coffee, tea and cookies. What a nice touch. There is a buffet breakfast and a full English breakfast offered also. Our room included free internet and the breakfast buffet. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming.

There is a Waitrose supermarket just around the corner from the hotel and it is perfect to buy water and snacks instead of using the expensive mini-bar.

Excellent hotel

Excellent location in the Knightsbridge region about 1 block from the Underground stop. Very walkable. We ate at Mimosa (the hotel bar) our first night. The lamb wrapped in spinach was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. They checked us in early without a problem. If you want a pool and health club, stay at their sister hotel about a block away.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Save some money and take the Picadilly line straight in from Heathrow...it's easy, takes about 45 minutes, and it's only 4 pounds. Get off at Knightsbridge Underground stop.
