Great location!

I was in London for about a week as a tourist. I really liked the Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum. It's billed as a four ... star hotel, but is probably really a 3 1/2 star hotel, so it's less expensive than most of the other 4 star hotels. I had a room with 2 single beds. It was small, but obviously renovated recently and very nice. Very clean, small but very nice bathroom. I was on the 16th floor, which was very quiet. The elevators are wonderfully fast. The best thing about the hotel is its location, in Kensington, near a number of museums, and only 1 block from the Gloucester Road tube station, so very convenient for getting to many other tourist attractions. The staff was friendly, especially the young woman at the registration desk when I arrived. The only thing about the room that was less than satisfactory was the mini-refrigerator, which didn't keep my food quite as cold as I would have liked. I contacted housekeeping, but they either didn't check on it (I was out of the room most of the time) or weren't able to adjust the temperature any lower. My food didn't spoil though, so it all worked out just fine. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

The Gloucester Road tube station is only one block away from the hotel. It's a great station with connections to the Piccadilly, Circle, and District underground lines. These lines will take you to almost all the major tourist sites. The tube station is in the same building as a Waitrose supermarket and a Boots pharmacy. All very convenient. Buy some food at the Waitrose and store it in the mini-refrigerator in the hotel room to save money on eating out.

The location is very good. The Underground is close, as are resturants, grocery stores and nice neighborhoods. The ... Concerige was very helpful. Rooms were small even though I booked an larger room. They did upgrade me to a Suite for only 75 quid for the 4 nights. This room was fine. Ask them about this, it was worth it.

Stayed for two weeks. The hotel is at perfect location for access to the London Underground. Used the Picadilly Line tube ... from and to Heathrow. Within walking distance of several 24 hour supermarkets. Nearby are: three museums, lots of restaurant and several parks. The hotel room had great A/C, and a very comfortable bed. The room was kept clean on a daily basis. Overall, this is a perfect location for a vist to a great city.

I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn London Kensington Forum. Though the room was quite small and rather spartan, it was ... perfect for our purposes. It was air-conditioned, which was indispensable for the hottest days in London in three years. It is only a block from the Gloucester Road tube station and easy walking distance to several museums and the Royal Albert Hall. Best of all, it is located next to a mini-mall with several restaurants, a grocery store and a pharmacy.

Hotel is located next to a mini-mall with a full-service grocery store. We saved a lot of money by buying breakfast and snack items and keeping them in the free mini-fridge in our room.

Mostly good

The hotel gives the impression it may be going a bit downhill. While everything was adequate, nothing really stood out as ... being great. On checkout, staff asked if we had a chance to try the exercise room (we had), and commented that they just put in all new machines the previous week (early June, 2009). I found this peculiar, as one of the stationary bikes was out of order already. The internet connection in our first room did not work, so they gave us the option to change rooms. A very helpful man at the front desk noticed the room next door to ours was open, and let me try the connection there before moving our luggage over. You will pay 15 pounds per day or 75 for a week of internet connection. This was a surprise to me, having had free wireless in our previous London hotel. The location is great, a block west of Gloucester Road tube station, on the Circle, District and Picadilly lines, so it's an easy trip to Westminster, SoHo, or just about any of the tourist destinations. We were on the 4th floor, and did experience some vehicle noise from the street and music, possibly from within the hotel, because I didn't notice any dance clubs on the street outside.

La Liaison, on the way to the tube station, has wonderful and reasonable breakfast and lunch fare. They have a loyal clientele, including local businessmen, flight crews on layovers, construction crews, taxi drivers, and us, just about every day we were there. You can get a proper English breakfast, or scrambled eggs, cheese and tomato on a baguette. Yum!

I was only there for one night, and a short one at that, but my stay was very good. I had a late check-in which wasn't a ... problem at all, I just called ahead and let them know. And when I checked out the next morning I was able to leave me luggage at the hotel for the day while I walked the city. Very accommodating staff; great experience!

The London Kensington Forum is exremely convenient for getting around London. With a tube station only a half block away and a ... taxi rank on the hotel grounds a visit to any part of London is a snap, even for the London newcomer.Couple this with a central location and a myriad of restaurants and pubs within walking distance and you have a safe bet for a London stay. However,if you are seeking old world charm you won't find it at this very large, modern,American style hotel.

Dr. Lawrence Dec 28, 2008
As usual in London, I was expecting a tiny standard room. To my dismay, the room was clean and spacious with a double bed. ... The bathroom was clean and immaculate. The location was very good, easy access by tube to anywhere. On top of that, there is a big super market right at the tube station. This hotel and its staff are the best I have seen in London. I will always stay there when I am in London. God Bless.
