Regent's Park Holiday Inn as reliable as ever
I've stayed many times at the Holiday Inn in Carburton Street, just south of Regent's Park, London, and it's as good as ever. The location is great for just about any central London destination, being a short walk from no less than three Tube stations, and while it would never win any awards for individuality, it is clean and comfortable, with friendly helpful staff and pretty good food should you happen to want to eat in. Only downsides are that the rooms are a bit small (inevitable on such a tight site) and that they charge a lot for wi-fi access... why? Make that free, and it would get the fifth star for value.

Solid option in London
When I went the internet was down and had been down for a reported five days before I got there. It was not fixed for the four I stayed there and so one of their selling points was removed (the internet when working is of the pay as you go variety and you were required to plug your computer into a router via cable - I don't believe they had WiFi). That said the location was decent (right next to a tube stop on the circle line - the line that also had stops at the Tower of London and Paddington Station). There were plenty of pubs and restaurants in the general area, as it is more of a middle class residential area than a touristy one.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Try the Efes 2 Restaurant about a half block away on Great Portland Street. I had just traveled to England from Turkey, and this was the best Turkish food I'd had on my trip (including my time in Istanbul).

Older hotel, good location
This hotel was in a good location, within a block of an Underground station. We also walked from Oxford Circus area and it wasn't terrible. There were some good pubs for drinking and eating nearby. The hotel room seemed a bit older and small, but the size seemed normal for London standards. This hotel met our needs for price and location.

central and nice hotel for city trip
The hotel is very central in london. Room was nice and clean. however, there was some rust in the bathroom. I only stayed 2 nights and thought that it was quite expensive. but that may be due to the short stay; also I had a single room.

Gute Lage
Gute Lage. Auch zu Fuss alles sehenswerte erreichbar. U-Bahnstation fast vor dem Haus. Kleine Zimmer und sehr kleine Bäder. Das Zimmer ging in den eher unansehnlichen Hof raus. Dadurch sehr ruhig. Preis vor Ort: unglaubliche 300 Pund, am Weekend sogar 350 Pfund! Buchen im Internet dringend empfohlen! Wir würden dieses Hotel wieder wählen.

Long walk from hotel
