The purpose built Coburg Court Hotel was first opened in 1907 and later changed to the Coburg Hotel in the early 1960s. It was created by D. Joseph, the man responsible for many of the superstructures of several Underground stations. Now occupying this iconic building, the Hilton London Hyde Park is set in this grade II listed traditional red terracotta clad Edwardian Townhouse with a prime location overlooking Britains most famous park at the entrance of Kensington Palace. In keeping with the hotels tradition, guest rooms are elegantly designed with the modern traveller in mind with a classic twist so whether it is shopping, sightseeing or business that brings you to London we aim to create a warm, welcoming and homely atmosphere. Conveniently located in Bayswater, on the corner of Queensway, named after Queen Victoria, this townhouse hotel is adjacent to two underground stations, Queensway and Bayswater, servicing the central, circle and district lines, meaning all Londons key destinations are within 20 minutes travel from the hotel. With London's favourite Royal Park situated right in front of the hotel, enjoy a jog or a relaxing walk in Hyde Park. The Kensington Palace, Serpentine lake, and Diana Memorial fountain will all be very interesting places to visit if you are on a leisure trip. You will also reach the shopping district (Oxford Street) within minutes and the hotel is also located within walking distance of Portobello Antiques Market and Harrods. The hotel offers relaxed dining in the Library Lounge at the hotel and is based in the bustling Bayswater District that is bordered by Edgware Road, Kensington, Notting Hill which are all known for the international gastronomic influences. All 132 guest rooms and the 2 meeting rooms for up to 100 guests have high-speed wireless internet access. Please note that a charge for the internet might apply.

Weeklong getaway

Can't beat this hotel for convenience and value. Clean room, spacious for London, overlooking Hyde Park and 3 minutes from three underground lines. Friendly and helpful staff. Don't pay for breakfast as there are lots of inexpensive sandwich shops around. Overall one would expect more from a Hilton and stateside one would be right to - but for the location (midtown London) and the price it's a good deal and a safe bet.

Not in the Hilton standard

Normally minimum services which you expect from a hotel are pre set as per the name of the chain. Deinitely this was not as per expected Hilton standards and since it really was a Hilton, it makes me doubtful about the integrity of Hilton next time when I want to book a hotel. The hotel was not clean, room was too small, staff not trained and I should say not worth the money.

Hilton Hyde Park

Was not up to normal Hilton standards. For the location, was reasonably priced. Room near the elevator was very noisy - people walking by the room and talking

"Perfect for 1st time visitors"

This was our first visit to London and thanks to this hotel, it will not be the last. The hotel is conveniently location next door to the Queensway station. We took the Heathrow Connect, tube, bus, Eurostar and Gatwick Express during our stay - we never needed to hire a car or taxi which saved us alot of money. The hotel may not be up to the usual Hilton standard as it is an older hotel with less amenities. However the room was spacious enough for two (we had a twin room). The water pressure in the bathroom and shower was strong and we never ran out of hot water. There are wardrobes with drawers and also a small chest for clothing and a flat screen television. Our room (210) was actually on the 3rd floor and had an amazing view of Kensington Gardens. If you are sensitive to sound, you may not want to go with a garden room as traffic continues up and down the street at all times of the day and night. The only negatives I can think of are the room temperature which was difficult to regulate (it always seemed a bit warm in the room) and the cost of the internet. You would think the Hilton would provide free service for their guests - that was disappointing. The hotel did offer free breakfast if you were an honors member so if you decide to book here, be sure to sign up for the HH program. Unfortunately, we never made it to a breakfast so I am unable to offer an opinion about that service. Just around the corner from the hotel is a street full of souvenir shops, restaurants, pubs and such. There is even a bowling/ice skating rink. We found an amazing Mediterranean restaurant our first night and it was great to be able to have dinner so close to the hotel. We have already decided to return to London next year and will be definitely staying at Hilton Hyde Park.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

We took the tube everywhere. The Queensway station is literally next door to the hotel and the Bayswater Station is around the corner. Purchase an Oyster card and use it for the tube as well as the bus. We never took a taxi during our entire stay!

Great Location!

The hotel staff was great. Attentive and responsive. Rooms are small,as many are in Europe, with really small shower and bathroom. I am 6'6, and the, um...loo...was too close to the wall for me. Underground station was around the corner, a 20 second walk. Neat pub with on the next corner, across from Kennington Palace and the park. Safe, easy to get to from Paddington Train Station. Hotel missed a wake up call for us one morning and the manager called for a car and picked up the tab so we would not miss our scheduled pick up for the tour we had booked. Other than the size of the room a good experience overall for us. We did not eat in the dining room, but got appitizers in the bar. A bit pricy, but service and quality of food was ok.

Hilton Hyde Park

I travelled with my eighteen year old son. We both really enjoyed this small hotel. The location is great: Across the street from Hyde Park and around the corner from the Underground. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. Our room overlooked the park and was very clean and comfortable. We had a fabulous vacation and this very nice hotel was definitely a very important part of our great trip.
