Good family stay with kitchenette
Staff was very polite and helpful. We had a lower level (garden level) room that I was a little leery about initially, but turned out to be very nice. It had a kitchenette, table and chairs, sofa bed and two twin beds pushed together to form a king size bed. There were 4 of us sharing the room and we had plenty of space. Fairly close to the underground, restaurants and shopping.

Not good
Family holiday, two adults and two small girls. We were allocated in a room on the basement. The room was so crammed that you barely had any space to turn around. There was no natural light coming in through the windows, very low ceilings, dirty carpets, uneven floors, the room was next to the launderette so it was very noisy and smelly. The staff at reception were really rude. The hotel is really close to the underground and there are plenty of good restaurants and shops.

Family trip
If you want an American style hotel, this is not it. The one bedroom executive suite was very small for our family of four. There was hardly any room to walk. We were on the fourth floor with no AC. The fan provided did not circulate any air. The whole building needs new carpeting and paint, but it is a very busy hotel. The staff is very polite and accommodating. For a small fee, your laundry is washed. If you are staying for more than three days, your room is cleaned every three days with light cleaning on the following two days. We brought the wrong adapter, and the front desk provided us one duringbour stay. The location is near a tube stop and walking distance to Hyde Park. There are many stores and restaurants which are open late. We saved a lot by buying bottled water and snacks at a nearby market. Overall, the hotel met our basic needs.

Adequate, not opulent: 2 beds, a table with 4 metal chairs, and a fan. Clean, quiet, convenient, nice staff. No internet for 3 days was only problem.

Unbeatable location for the price
location was the best, close to the underground, two block away, there was the best shopping mall and in either direction there was no shortage of places to eat, drink and shop. what more can you ask for. The staff was great, everything we ask for we got a response within 5 minutes. Was a little put out with the size of the bathroom but at least it was a modern one.

Because the hotel has it own kitchen, you can walk to the express Tesco and buy what you need to prepare a meal and it will only cost you about 10 pounds to feed a family of three. if not, you will not miss america they have subway, pizza hut and kentucy fried chicken.

Grand Plaza - not as good as I expected
When I arrived to book in the woman charged me over £700. I told her I had paid & she argued that I hadn't. Luckily another receptionist sorted it out and saw that I had paid. Then I got a shock when we got to our room. I booked for 4 people with an extra room. The pictures on the internet showed what a one bedroom apartment looked like and was a big spacious room with a another bedroom off to the side of the apartment. What I got was a split level apartment. A small room with a sofa bed made into a double bed with a small kitchen and no space for clothes. Downstairs was a small room with a double bed, small wardrobe along the wall and a bathroom. This was inconvenient as the room was for my 15 year old daughter and 17 year old niece. Because of the location of the bathroom, my husband had to go to the public toilets in the hotel as he didn't feel comfortable going through the girls bedroom at night to the toilet. As me & my husband were in the livingroom part with a settee made into a bed, there was nowhere to put my clothes. The apartment we got was for two people, not four. Also, most of the staff were not very friendly. One of the guys were very helpful though. Due to no air conditioning, we were roasting during the night. A fan did not cool the rooms down that much. We were not impressed.

average. From an American point of view it is average only. The rooms are not air conditioned so in the summer months when it is hot expect to be miserable at night
