Overall a Great Experience

I'm a frequent traveler to London and I've had my fair share of ups and downs when it comes to hotels. This however was most certainly a great place to stay. Location wise you can't get much better. It's located just a couple of blocks from two different Tube Stations offering you plenty of connections and options for local, national and international rail travel. Plus, there are numerous buses that stop in the immediate area so you aren't ever short for options day or night. It's located in a very safe and clean area right next to some gorgeous parks and you aren't far from the major tourist attractions in the heart of the city. The rooms and overall amenities in the hotel are great. Your room is like a mini studio with it's own kitchenette and mini fridge in case you wanna make some food in your own room and the free wifi and laundry are great touches. I know personally I will be returning to this great hotel.

Excellent London Experience

My wife and I selected Go Native because of the experience they described, which was "to experience London in an apartment-style hotel". In short, they didn't disappoint at all, and exceeded my expectations in pretty much every way. The room was designed as a studio apartment and didn't give the impression that it was a hotel at all. The kitchenette came with everything you could need to cook full meals in your room if you wanted, even a plug-in stove top! The bathroom was very clean and came with all the toiletries that one would expect from a four-star hotel - nothing beyond the standard (shampoo, conditioner, extra toilet paper, etc). The bed could convert to a couch (it's NOT a futon or sofa bed - the mattress and bedframe is locked against the wall), which made sense considering the size of the room, though we never did convert it during our stay. That said, because the bed could become a couch, the mattress wasn't as super-soft as if you stayed at a Marriott, but it was still very comfortable. Hotel amenities outside the room are great as well. Each floor has a full community kitchen that has a full-sized fridge, two stoves/ovens, lots of kitchenwares and seating for several people. On the basement level there's a large lounge, a garbage room and a laundry room with five washers and two dryers, all heavy-duty and free to use (you get washer tablets in your room that you can then bring down to the laundry room). We used the laundry room once during our stay - no complaints there! This Go Native hotel is located, as the name indicates, near Regent Park - about a three minute walk from the front door, to be exact. The neighborhood is a mix of businesses (notably the BBC HQ is a couple of blocks away), small shops, restaurants, and pubs. About 8-10 minutes walking distance is Oxford Circus, which has a TON of shopping plazas and department stores. The area feels very safe at all times of the day and night - we never once felt insecure about our surroundings. The only issue we had during our stay was that the shower drain, upon first-use, didn't drain water, which got pretty nasty since we were "fresh" off an eight-hour flight. However, upon bringing this to the attention to the hotel staff, they were quick to provide a temporary solution - a keycard to a vacant nearby room where we could shower until maintenance could come and fix the problem. It was a slight inconvenience, but not experience-breaking. To round this out, the staff were always helpful and friendly. During our stay we asked them various questions, both hotel-related and about London - in both cases, they were quite knowledgeable. In the end, we definitely plan on returning to Go Native for our future stays in London. The rooms are great and full of necessary supplies for a long-term stay, the staff are accommodating and friendly, and the location within London is perfect.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

From the hotel, take Devonshire Street to Great Portland Street; make a right (walking south) and you'll hit Oxford Street (major shopping hub) in about 8-10 minutes, but along the way you'll pass several small eateries and a few shops.
