Good for a night
Was a reasonably pleasant stay, good for just one night, although the location wasn't brilliant the walk to Elephant and Castle wasn't to bad and there are regular busses from the hotel to the tube station. Not much to do in the area however it was a place to stay for the night. Room was comfy, bathroom was nice and staff we reasonably friendly. We had an ironing board but no iron and breakfast was simplistic. However, if only staying for a short period of time would reccomend :)

All in all ideal for a visit to
All in all ideal for a visit to London. Local transport (bus) passes by the door, nearest tube station about a mile away and easily accessed by the bus. Many of the buses go direct to the many sightseeing areas if you don't want to travel by tube. There is a lack of eating facilities in the area - it was a shame that the adjoining Chinese restaurant was closed for refurbishments on our visit. The room we had was very quiet. No complaints about the hotel at all.

Good value for money. Room was clean and everything worked as expected. Unfortunately the area is not one of teh best in London and the nearest tube station is not at walking distance but the buses are frequent. Recommendable for a short stay.

You get what you pay for
My husband and I booked this room based on price and price alone (we paid 90 USD per night). The only reason to stay here is if you are on a tight budget like my husband and me. The hotel is located over 1 mile away from the nearest tube station (Elephant & Castle) and is not located in a safe neighborhood. During our four night stay, our airco didn't work for the first three nights. Our sink never worked. Upon arrival to our room, there was urine on the toilet. It obviously hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival. With that said, I should also mention that the owners were pleasant and the bed was comfortable.

Mr Dorrit
good hotel in Southwark
This is a superior hotel, with relatively large and very clean rooms, in the heart of Southwark. It takes about 20 minutes by foot to reach Elephant & Castle from here, slightly longer to the Borough tube station (a more pleasant walk, though), but bus service to many points is one short block away. Not a hotel for London novices because of its location, but still within walking distance of the City, the South Bank, and much of central London.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
The Old Kent Road Tesco is nearby, and the rooms have small refrigerators (large enough for juice, etc.)
