Small, functional, but overpriced

Bathroom was small and dingy. Location was great; pleasant street and relatively near the Underground. Not worth the price, though.

Solo traveler

I booked this room last minute after a terrible experience at a local hostel. Coming to this hotel after that was like a breath of fresh air. The room was very clean, the front desk staff was so very friendly and helpful, free wifi was delivered as promised and even though it was slightly far from the city center there was easy access to it via the Victoria Station a few blocks away. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again on future trips to London.

Photos to add to previous review titled "Stay in London"

See photos with captions. As stated before, our hotel stay was not awful however I wanted to right an honest review. It was less than expected based on readings of previous reviews and not worth the price we paid. If you are on a limited budget and will be out of the hotel room most of the time, it would due.

Stay in London

Breakfast included cereal, yogurt, milk, coffee, juice, and toast. One of the workers got mad at a couple for coming to eat at 9:20am because they were "late", however breakfast ended at 9:30am. I am pretty sure I can eat a bowl of cereal within 10 minutes. Most of the staff was pleasant, but none of the staff seemed native to England and some had difficulty speaking English. When I booked the room it said we would have a king size bed. The bed was a full size bed and it seemed to have a twin set of sheets on it because they barely covered the mattress pad. We also could not get a blanket, only the comforter to use as a blanket. When we asked for a blanket, they gave us another comforter. When I read reviews for this site, I wondered how your feet could possibly be in the shower while sitting on the toilet. It is true! The bathroom seems to be in a large fiberglass container. You have to step up about 1 foot to get into the bathroom, where the sink is to your left, the toilet is next to the sink, and across from the toilet and sink is a small shower that is on the same level as the toilet and sink (it does not have the same rubber coating on the floor, but has the original fiberglass that is also the walls of the bathroom/shower). So when you shower, there is water that is all over the bathroom floor as it is all one level with no barrier for spill-over. Also, the WIFI did not work well at all and would randomly stop working every 5-10 minutes. After we had our daily excursions, we would come back to our room with an open window. I guess the cleaning ladies opened it when they cleaned the room, but it was cold and rainy in London when we were there and it would have been nice if they would have closed a window we left closed on purpose. We did not have an awful experience, however I would not stay here again. Not worth the price.

Great value

We enjoyed our stay at the Dover Hotel. It was definitely not upper class, but we were on a limited budget and it met all of our needs. The staff was kind and helpful and the room was kept clean for us. We will definitely consider staying again in the future if/when we visit London.

Near Victoria Rail and Bus Station

Minimal room and bathroom size. OK if you just need a place to sleep and shower.

excellent location

This hotel was a great value for myself and 2 daughters, with a location near Victoria Station on a quiet road lined with hotels. The staff was extremely friendly and the room was comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the included breakfast. The room was small but comfortable. It was a long walk up 4 flights of stairs to our room. Our only concern was that the toilet was leaking and wasn' fixed during our 4 day stay.
