Two Whirlwind Days in London

The hotel location is very convenient for accessing the Underground to get around and being in a lovely neighborhood/area of London, just across the street from Hyde Park. Breakfast at the nearby Cafe Diana is nice, and there you might catch a glimpse of a royal arriving or leaving Kensington Palace.

Good hotel, nice location, newly renovated

Stayed at this hotel for 5 days with my wife. It was clean and the rooms were nice and modern, they appear to have been newly renovated. At the time they were renovating the gym so that was out of order. The location is pretty good, it is only a block walk to the nearest London Underground station and it is on the Central line which is a good line to be on because it is quick and intersects with all other lines. It is only one stop away from Marble Arch which takes you to Oxford St. where there is a lot of shopping and restaurants. There is a tour bus stop right in front of the hotel so you can take the double decker bus tour around the city and see all of the tourist sites. The hotel is right across from the entrance to Kensington Gardens which adjoins with Hyde Park. My wife jogged in the the park a few times, and on another occasion we rented the city bikes that are available at the entrance to the Kensington Gardens - 2 pounds each for 24 hours so not too bad of a price. We ate breakfast at the hotel every morning because it was convenient and probably around the same price as anywhere else. The buffet had plenty of options and wasn't cheap quality. If you checked in with the front desk a day before eating there you get a discount on the breakfast. The wifi worked great, you just need to ask for extra wifi vouchers from the front desk, and they seem to give them out pretty openly. Each voucher will allow one device to connect for either a day or 5 days. The rooms were small but cozy and nice. The bathrooms were nice and modern. Overall I liked this hotel and would stay there again if the price was right.

OK Hotel, Horrible WiFi/Smell in Hallway

The room was nice overall. It was a little small for Americans, but definitely good for a continental European. The WiFi is horrible. They have a voucher system that expires randomly, kicks you off, and does not seem to enjoy working. Also, it seems that the ventilation goes from the bathrooms directly into the hallways as the smell is fine in the morning and proceeds from disgusting into nauseating as the day progresses. Also, the hotel bar took 25 minutes to make 2 cocktails, which were bad, gag-inducing bad (the beer on tap is good though). We wound up changing hotels for the remainder of our stay.

The Wallace Collection, a museum just off Oxford Street is free, fascinating, has an amazing coffee bar, and is a great place to relax in London.

Vacation

The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was that the AC was not working. It did not get cold and the windows couldn't be opened so it was very hot. Also, the safe boxes were not working properly. Other than that the location and service was great.

Good Hotel

Great location, the room size was excellent comparing to other hotels in London, had a nice view at the Hyde Park. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great. However, when I checked in, they informed me that I have to pay for my breakfast although my reservation shows free full breakfast, when I informed this, they asked for proof, luckily I had my reservation printout with me, then they accepted to offer free breakfast. The rooms were clean but the towels were bit smelly. Overall, it was good and I recommend it.

A pleasant weekend in London town

Just a gorgeous weekend in London town. Beautiful weather (yes, it does happen) and the hotel was pleasant enough. As a single person I had a small room, barely enough space to keep my suitcase open, but it was clean and otherwise pleasant and up-to-date. Free bottled water, coffee, tea and a shortbread cookie. Nice touch. The staff was very attentive to my wishes (safe rental) and the bus stop in front of the hotel was handy. Notting Hill and Hyde Park are really close and pleasant for strolling about. Breakfast, included in the price I paid, was super.

Use one of the hop on/off bus tours if you are a tourist. I used Big Bus Tours. Well worth the money considering that boatrides on the Thames are included and that one can choose from several guided walks that start around 6 PM (leaving from Trafalgar Sq).

Ramada Hyde Park

Great location next to the park, tube, etc. Worth staying at if you're looking for a safe choice of hotel vs some of the smaller ones in the area. East facing rooms do get hot in the summer mornings.

All receptionist & concierge help RUDE!!

This staff could care less greeting me on arrival. I told them upon arrival my room door would not lock properly finally on my last night they moved me to another room. Nothing beats packing & unpacking twice on your last night. My room I had no preference on location was terrible. Noisy all night long. I will advise everyone I know NEVER to use [...] much less a Ramada chain again.

London in 2 days

For a quick trip when you don't spend much time in a room this hotel was great. The room was clean, but small. For a 4 star rating would have expected it to be a bit more posh, maybe upgraded linens and a mini bar, but it was acceptable.

For the major London attractions you'll want to use the tube from this hotel, as it is a bit far from them for walking
