Unfortunately the Docklands Light Rail which is the ONLY efficient transportation close to the hotel was closed for the weekend and apparently it has been closed every weekend for MONTHS and will continue to be for an unknown number of months in
the future! We were not informed of this at the time we booked the hotel,so ended up spending a fortune in taxis during our stay at the hotel. The closure is for "maintenance" but apparently this is an ongoing situation. If you are traveling on the weekends I would advise you find another hotel close to the underground rather than the DLR.
Relaxing location - perhaps different when there is a show on at Excel? When trains are running, easy to get to anywhere in London. When trains are not running (e.g. maintenance work at weekends) - nightmare, with buses, exchanges, etc.). Hotel
has a taxi service arrangement that is expensive (albeit comfortable and fixed price). Didn't feel there were any extra benefits in being a Priority Club member.
