Fantastic Location in London
Second stay at this hotel. Location is phenomenal for visiting major London sites. Unfortunately, everything in London is expensive these days and this hotel is no exception. The room rate was not unreasonably expensive for a major metropolitan city, but breakfast, etc. were all quite costly (especially when you consider the British Pound to US Dollar values). Room was roomy and very clean located overlooking the lovely courtyard. Despite the expense of London, I would absolutely stay there again as many major London attractions are within walking distance.

Elegance and a Palace Location
The Crowne Plaza Hotel London--St James was perfect in so many ways--located across the street from Buckingham Palace;we walked to the changing of the guard; had formal tea in the gardens on the premises; a baby grand piano in the lobby with music at night; walkable to many attractions; located close to the Big Red Bus Stops, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben. We took the river boat to see the crown jewels; great casual food service in the bar after sightseeing all day; comfortable beds; great service including concierge for tours and cabs; We loved the hotel, the elegance, the staff, but most of all--a great location!! Would definitely stay there again.

London
Wonderful location. We could walk to Parliament Building, the Thames, and Buckingham Palace. Once we walked through the park to Trafalgar Square. We were treated with great deference and received useful info from the desk and the concierge. The room was comfortable and clean. We ate breakfast at the Italian restaurant across the street.

Better like getting up early
Not bad room , but everything had a charge. 9 pounds for internet wi-fi per day? And the room service starts at 7. The staff would drag around vacuums and carts and be slamming doors at that early hour meant we were never able to sleep in late, something you really want to do after clubbing in Soho.

Excellent short vacation
Exceptional location and services. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We checked in late on the first night and got 2 bed small room. The next night they moved us to top floor corner room which was roomy and very comfortable. Shift manager called us 2-3 nights in a row asking if we were happy and needed any more assistance. The only complaint was the wireless internet was very slow. The cable TV was down for almost 2 days but because of the cable service system's problem. Overall we were very happy for the 5 days stay. We recommend the hotel for anyone who which to stay at Central London.

Unbeatable location for the price
I was with my b-friend on vacation in London and we were happy that this hotel was chosen. We had no complains at all. We arrived at the hotel around 11 am and since our room was ready, we were allowed to go to the room right away. A room was a little bit small but sunny and clean. The bed was very comfortable with a down comforter and down pillows. Even though internet connection in rooms was not free, we were able to use the complimentary internet service in a business center. The best thing about the hotel is it's in a walking distance from Buckingham Palace (3min), The Parlament and The Westminster Abbey (15 min), etc. Also, it's very closed to a metro station. It's so expensive to use taxi in London. We would like also to recommend a cool pub that is located around a corner on Victoria street. We enjoined a huge choice of beer, delicious like home made food and a good service. We will definitely stay in this hotel next time.

What a classy hotel
Wonderful hotel! Victoria Station and the Hop On Hop Off bus service are very close. Able to walk to several major tourist areas. All hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 9am and staff let us check in our room early, in fact, front desk called housekeeping to clean our room next. First class service all the way. Restaurants are also great. Fun to eat courtside. Beautiful grounds. We would stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Central London Hotel Review
Elegant hotel in Central London near Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Parliment, etc., yet far enough away from the late night noisy sections of Picadilly, Covent, Oxford, etc.

Best Location for Us
The location was perfect for us as we were visiting out son who was studying in London for the semester. His residence (Vandon House Hotel) was across the street. We felt that the staff, mainly the doormen weren't accomodating and questioned our son for the reason he was in the hotel when he would come to our room. We were on vacation so we didn't dress in business clothes and therefore they didn't assist with luggage or opening doors whenever we entered or exited the hotel as we saw them do for others. I mean we did pay for staying 7 nights afterall. Other than that it was fine.
