Bel Canto
A welcome new arrival to Corus Hotel Hyde Park, Bel Canto is an eclectic mix of food and opera. The venue combines opera and fine dining with an elegant twist as all the waiting staff are talented young opera stars of the future. The venue offers young professionals the chance to interact with the public while performing arias from Verdi, Puccini, Mozart and many more. At regular intervals during the evening up to four of the performers will burst into song, moving between the tables while belting out opera classics.

Convenient and Pleasant

We stayed here for two days -- stop over prior to flying to Athens. We found the hotel convenient to Paddington and the Underground (underground from Heathrow, Express to Heathrow). Rooms were actually a bit larger than we expected.

Fabulous!

This hotel was exactly what we needed. It's conveniently located to 2 tube stations and the beautiful Hyde Park. The breakfast (which was included when we booked) was a great deal and was also very delicious. The rooms are small, but that is typical and to be expected when staying anywhere in the greater London area. The room was quiet and clean. The wait-service during breakfast was fantastically attentive.

a budget hotel in a nice location

The place was not staffed by Londoners or even Brits, which was fine except that I knew more about London than the concierge staff. The room was Spartan (not even a clothes closet) but it was clean and quiet. The in-room internet access worked fine although they kept changing the password without notice. Location was a 5 min walk from Paddington and just across the street from Hyde Park (Lancaster Gate). Its right next door to the Swan, a pub where prisoners had their last drink on the way to be hanged at Tyburn Gallows (just up the street at what is now Marble Arch).

Small Rooms but clean and neat.

This hotel is 5 minute walk from Lancaster Gate Tube Station and 7 minute walk from the Paddington Tube Station. This makes it convenient to access it from different tube lines. Rooms are quite small. However this was one hotel which actually allowed me to set airconditioning to my requirements. Most hotels in London have heating but do not allow "cooling" and that does get uncomfortable at times. Some of the rooms face a sort of an alley where all the airconditioning units are placed. If you get such a room, draw the curtains and forget the view of Hyde Park.

Corus Hotel Review

The hotel was very nice, clean, and comfortable as well as in a fantastic location for the low price. I would definitely stay there again if I go back to London. The food was really good and so was room service. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The only complaint is that our room was close to the back of the hotel close to the area where the laundry and garbage is picked up so it was rather noisy about 7am each morning if you want to sleep in.

Simple, elegant hotel, good location

Located right across the street from Hyde Park. A block away from the Lancaster Gate tube station. Nice neighborhood with pretty hotels and office buildings. I got the 2 twin bed configuration, but I guess UK twin beds are smaller than US ones. A single Queen bed would have been nicer. Friendly staff, nice lobby area.

London Trip and Corus Hotel Hyde Park

The hotel was very convenient to Paddington Station, Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and the Central Line. The room was very clean, if tiny. The restaurant was very nice and included a full English breakfast every morning. The only thing I didn't like was the undisclosed 4 pound fee for holding my bags for five hours.
