Club Quarters
Jeff Jun 29, 2009
I spent two nights here. Rooms were nice, lobby was nice, and there was wifi. The location can get a little quiet on the ... weekends since it's in more of a business part of town, but there are still options. The Tube is less than a 10 minute walk away. They actually had free bottled water by the elevators... a very nice touch.

Excellent Value, Highly Recommended!
Leah Jun 23, 2009
Compared to most of hotels in downtown London, the room was spacious (it was not a box). It has a desk, free DSL and wifi ... internet connection, closet and clean bathroom with shower. Free Tea kettle and coffee and tea in the room was nice as well as free coffee and tea in the lobby. In the hall way, it also has free ice and water (with plastic bottles to carry your water). Staff are friendly and helpful. My room was on the 2nd fl. and was slightly noisy in the morning when garbage trucks were collecting garbage. But the level was not more than what's expected in the middle of city. Right next door is a restaurant with free wifi and very good value meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sainsbury's local supermarket is around the corner on Lombard St. Underground connection is good as well as buses to all directions. Walking distance to London bridge and tower. It was the best value hotel I stayed in London.

Great for Business in City Financial Are
JAB Jun 15, 2009
The location is in the financial district, minutes away from my business. The rooms are clean and airy, but spartan. The TV ... is old and has no connectivity for attaching a PC (you can do that at CQ Trafalgar Square). The staff went out of its way to get a DVD player connected to the TV, but the images were only black & white. The free wifi throughout the hotel works well, and the business center has 3 PC's with a printer for hard copies. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. The adjacent restaurant, Gaucho, was rip-off; they also overcharged my by 4 pounds, and took them 4 tries to correct the final bill...unpleasant sloppy operation! You can find plenty of eateries around the hotel for a reasonable price. All in all, very convenient for business, particularly that we were hit by a tube transit workers strike for 2 days.

Worth the price
London Travel Jun 1, 2009
The rooms were huge. There was a hair dryer, but be careful because it's weird and the handle gets really hot. The staff was ... a little weird when I asked for an extra pillow, ("There should be one for each guest in the room,") but they came through in the end. The staff held our luggage all day. They even let us get into our luggage around 5:00 PM and then come back and pick them up around 11:00 PM. The hotel is located in London's business district. I stayed there over a bank holiday, so there was nothing open near the hotel. The nearest tube station is Monument, and is it only a couple blocks away. It was actually nice to come back to the hotel and not be around the bustle of the city.

This was the first stop in a busy European Honeymoon. We loved the easy check-in and check-out with kiosks located in ... entry. Staff was kind and helpful. Our location was excellent. We were in easy walking distance to London Bridge, Tower of London and HMS Belfast as well as underground transport (tube). We were greeted with unusually warm weather and the London Marathon -- what a nice surprise to get a few glimpses of the wheelchair races too. This is not a luxury hotel, but value is in price, location and service. Thank you.

Nice Retreat over the Bank Holiday
A World Traveller May 8, 2009
This hotel served as a great retreat over a May bank holiday weekend. Located in the City, it is clearly designed for a ... business travel (only a small business center, but free internet (wireless and LAN) in guestrooms) but served as a great base for sightseeing on the East side of town. (St. Paul's, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Monument, etc.) The ground floor public areas were indeed "club-like", with leather chairs and dark wood panelling; although the hallways upstair were narrow and windowless, the rooms were large and very nicely decorated. My room faced on a courtyard in the back of the building, opposite a church. At noon on Sunday churchbells rang, making for a very charming interlude. I only dealt with the staff at the front desk; they were pleasant and helpful. I didn't take any meals at the hotel so can not comment on the food or room service. This was a great place to stay, and I'd certainly recommend it.

I booked this hotel for the weekend to take my girlfriend away for her birthday. I was very impressed with the smartness and ... cleaness of the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful but not intrusive as they would let you get on with your daily business. On the downside the room was a lot smaller than I had anticipated and there was no bath either. For the price I paid I expected a little bigger although overall value for money was very good. The bed was very comfy although a little small. The hotel was located in the quiet City area of London near the Bank of England, which over the weekend was very quiet and peaceful, also located within fantastic old buildings from the Romans and was only 5mins walk to the nearest tube station which was bank and so was very easy to travel to westminster for the London sites and covent garden area for entertainment and dinner.Overall a great stay and would stay again, thanks very much [...] for finding it for me.

We stayed over a holiday weekend so because this is in the banking section of London it was very quiet. Clean, comfortable ... rooms. Nice lobby with a cozy seating area and the coffee pot is always on. Easy access to mass transportation. We walked to the Globe theater one night. Starbucks and Subway not far if you need chain food. The night manager, an indian guy,,,, provided me with a transformer box that clearly stated 110 volts (I have pictures of it ... too) I plugged in my $150 t3 hair straightning iron, and it blew up in my hand and caught fire. This guy yelled at me, and told ME that I should have known better. So now Im out my expensive iron, and I feel the hotel should have replaced it, and the night manager under no circumstances should have yelled at me,this happenned in front of other staff too. Very rude, and he didnt want to give me the corporate contact info either, or his name. But I got it, and will file a complaint when I return to the states.

When taking a taxi, ALWAYS use the official London taxis. They are friendly, efficient and helpful. They seem to genuinely want to help tourists have a good time. Often when my fare was something like 10.50 or 20.80, they would round down so you wouldn't have to bother with correct change. Great guys!

Brick Lane is maybe a 10 or 15 minute walk away, just northeast. There are fabulous, enormous markets around there (at least on the weekend) with everything you could imagine, and Brick Lane itself is a street lined with excellent Indian food. Just wander around on a Sunday, you'll find tons to do.
