Dining

Restaurant
The elegant Crompton's restaurant is offering a delicious varied menu for any budget. Alternatively Jenny's bar and the Pizzeria have a wide range of Italian and Carvery dishes which are excellent value. The Conservatory Bar is ideal for that meeting place and has excellent views over the waterside.

Wouldn't recommend

First walk into hotel couldn't find my booking, finally get a room and it smells old. Not fresh at all. Get disturbed in the morning by the cleaner 3 times between 9-10.30.. Checkout is 11am! Made me get out of bed at 9 first time to see who's at the door knocking. Walked in on me whilst half asleep, then unlocks the door without knocking and walks in on me getting dressed. Appalling. Disrespectful, rude, no privacy what so ever. I'd rather pay my money to a travelodge or premier inn that's a lot cheaper but much nicer and fresher! With respectful staff and cleaners!!!

Great 1 night stay

Only stayed one night, but it was good value for the money and close to where I needed to be! Was in London for the Doctor Who 50th. Short walk from the hotel to the DLR which went right to Xcel. Nice courteous staff. They had overbooked the specific room I requested with a large bed, but they upgraded me to a nicer room with a smaller bed, which was fine, since it was just me! After the flight from Denver, CO with connection in Iceland before getting to London and then the tube ride over to Canary Warf, the tea kettle and tea in the room were so nice! I wish hotels over here would do that. The kettle is where it's at, (not a 1 serving coffee pot...coffee is gross!) haha! What I really wished I would have had time for, but as I only stayed the one night and was really jet lagged, was to try the Indian restaurant there, it smelled and looked so good! Totally blanking on the name of it! But as it was, on my walk to the hotel I passed through a shopping center which had everything, and just nipped into a Boots and got a sandwich to take with me to eat in my room. So nice proximity to a shopping center as well! Had a nice stay! Would definitely stay again, if I ever needed to be out that way again!

Never again

This is a really tired hotel. My room had a dirty carpet, holes in the lampshades, etc. I didn't trust the teapot enough to make a cup of tea. I left as soon as I possibly could and had breakfast somewhere else. I won't be returning.

Perfect if you don't need wifi

I stayed two nights on vacation. Clearly this was a very nice hotel at some time in the past. Although clean, it shows ita age in the dings in the furnitire, the peeling wallpaper and mold in the bath, and multiple other signs. Again, not a bad hotel, just tired. I would recommend it and say it was a good value, but for one flaw. THE FREE WIFI IS PRETTY MUCH USELESS! As an international traveller, this was my planned communication link to my family. I could occasionally get signal in my room and in the lobby during the day. Connecting at night was impossible. By sitting in the elevator lobby of the 4th floor at 1am, and rebooting my computer, I was able to obtain almost 5 minutes worth of connectivity sufficient to read email. Not stream video. Not VOIP. Just barely enough to check email. And it didn't last. It was clear that their wifi infrastructure was operating far beyond it's capacity. So if you don't need connectivity, the location and price make this a great deal. Otherwise, I'd suggest making other arrangements.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Go out the back door(diagonally across from the front desk), across the footbridge, and through the Mozzerella Bar to reach Canary Wharf Underground station in under 10 minutes.

Aweful! Don't even bother

Don't waste your time even considering this hotel. I booked into a single room and was told by the concierge that the single rooms were too small and offered a family room. I did not care really and went up to my room which looked average. Tried turning on the air con cos it was 29 degrees in the room then a blower came on from one single vent (note there were 2 vents and only one worked). It was supposed to be an Air Con but only blew air which was barely sufficient to keep a fly cool. I was up all night until 4AM trying to sleep but just couldn't because I was literally sweating. Staff came up to the room and only apologised. Next morning followed up on the complaint with the duty manager but couldn't offer me any compensation for pre-booking the room. Left my details with the front Office mngr names "WYN" she's just disappointing - never called me back and had to chase her. She shouldn't even work in hospitality cos she doesn't understand customer service. Her response was "I'm sorry i can only offer you a 10% compensation as you pre-booked online and was very pleased to give me an email address where I can raise my complaint". I paid 89 quid for the room for a night where I wasn't even given the basics of what a hotel should provide. POOR EXPERIENCE AND POOR STAFF WITH NO DECENCY. Don't waste your time and book yourself into the Hilt*** or N***tel where the standards are much much higher.

Great Hotel, Friendly Staff

No issues with this place! I had booked a double room but when I got there they said they were overbooked on that room. They offered me an upgrade to an executive twin room with free access to the recreation area, which worked out fine for me. (If only I had remembered to pack a swimming suit!) This was presented in a friendly manner and I'm confident had this not been ok with me, they would have done what they could to get me what I needed. The room itself was very clean and had a nice view. The bed was a little hard, but I slept fine on it. Mine at home is probably way to soft, so pretty much every bed feels hard to me! Bathroom was clean and had all the little necessities you might need. Free wi-fi was a bonus, thought it said you had to pay for it, but you didn't have to. Easy access to the DLR and Tube. Restaurants in the hotel looked nice, but I did not dine in them. Not a very far walk to Jubilee Place, which had plenty of cafes/little shops to buy food at for people more on the go like I was.

Concert in O2 and sightseeing

Friendly helpfull staff. great location , perfect for O2 and train/tube nearby giving easy access to city centre and surrounding areas. Hotel lacked some entertainment at night, as the bar was not open when we were there, but it was possible to have a late drink if needed in residents bar. Great views over the river and the o2. Would definately recommed this hotel to any visitors to London.
