Lost Paperwork
Well when I first arrived they said my booking wasn't in the system. I showed them the print out receipt and they got us a room. Then 2 of my friends tried to check in and use their credit cards and they were declined, yet they worked everywhere else in London later that day. So they came back with cash. 3 days later while checking out they said 1 of my friends did not give them cash and somehow they got the credit card charged the night before. So she paid double. I had no problems with my room but both of my friends said the showers were cold and one completely stopped working mid-shower once.

Good vaule in a good area
The hotel is conveniently located north of Hyde Park and a short walk to the Lancaster Gate tube stop. You can reach both Kensington Palace and Oxford in 15 minutes. Only con is no wifi hotel-wide: you must be in the lobby to use it.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
For tourists, the Big Bus and Original Tours hop on/hop off service is based in the northeast corner of Hyde Park - about a 15 minute walk from the hotel - which gives you access to the entire city for 27 GBP (Dec 2011).

what can you expect for $100 in central London?
Room was tiny, bed smooshy, staff overloaded. But the price was right for a night in transit when we wanted to be near Paddington.

Inexpensive and Convenient
Nice place, whch is very well located three short blocks from the Paddington Station, which has the Heathrow Express that takes 15 mnutes to the airport. The rooms are small but comfortable and the baths well equiped. The staff is friendly and helpful. But I got there at 12:30 a.m., and they had given my room away. They took me by private car to another hote 3 miles away and brought me back the morning. Otherwise, would highly recommend it for those on a tight budget.

GREAT PLACE!
I just returned from out trip to London. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other members. The hotel was an easy walk to/from Paddington for airprort connection as well as catching the "tube". Our room was modern & very clean. Yes, the rooms and hallways are a bit small but thats to be expected. We had a good laugh taking a shower every day- thats part of what makes your trip memorable. There were grocery stores, shops and local pubs all around. Easy walk to Kensington Gardens (great to people watch on weekends). Our food was great at the "Pride of Paddington" just up from the hotel. We had free wifi in the lobby & a hotel computer to use. Really a great point place, nice area.. No surprises at check out. Would stay again for sure!

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
You can catch the "Heathrow express" for around 14-18pounds that will take you directly to Paddington. To get to the hotel- exit the main station entrance, turn Right. Stay on Praven St which turns into Craven Rd. Cont for about 2 blocks and the hotel will be on your Rightside at intersecttion of Craven & Devonshire

Good but not great...
Very cramped quarters for just two of us. Good from the standpoint of not spending too much time in the room, but a little tight for what we were paying. Felt like we overpaid for what we got, especially the bathroom which had barely room for one person. Location was good as it was close to Hyde Park and Paddington station. Stayed in Paris and Rome at similar type hotels on this Europe trip and felt this was the least bang for our buck. Would only recommended it as a place to sleep with a roof over your head...not much else to it.
